Come out to South Main Street in front of the Seattle Buddhist Temple for traditional Japanese dance, cultural exhibits, food, entertainment, and a beer garden with live music. This is a weekend long event that occurs every year in July and is a Seafair Sanctioned Community Event.

Mark your calendar for September 20th because Seattle Buddhist Temple Salmon Dinner is back! And this is a meal you don’t want to miss!

Orders are now open for our annual Salmon Dinner fundraiser, on Saturday September 20th from 12:00-5:00 PM. Order deadline is Monday, September 15th.

This year’s event will be drive-thru only 🚗 as we are still under construction. Pre-orders are required, and can be placed online: https://seattlebetsuin.org/salmondinner/

In addition to salmon, we also have limited quantities of pork entrees, roasted corn, and homemade desserts including ohagi, carrot cake, and brownies with chocolate ganache.

93 years and counting! We want to thank everyone for another incredible Bon Odori. From our dancers and volunteers to our attendees, this doesn’t happen without you and we’re truly grateful for every single person that shows up. We love to see our community come together, dance the streets and reconnect.

Get your sweet fix this year at Seattle Bon Odori with our daifuku mochi! A sweet rice cake stuffed with a sweet filling, anko. (A sweetened red bean paste made from azuki beans.) This delicious treat will be available at all food booths this year for $7! 🍡🍡🍡

Mochi fact: The name "daifuku" itself is a fun play on words, originally meaning "big belly" but later evolving to signify "great luck."

We're excited to share that this year, we will have a booth at Japan Fair! This event takes place at the Meydenbauer Center on Saturday, July 12th and Sunday 13th and is a great way to get into the Bon Odori spirit! There are live performances, demonstrations, and many booths to check out that celebrate the traditional and contemporary arts of Japan.

Come stop by our booth and be sure to check out the main stage at 12:30 PM on Saturday, the 12th, for a special Bon Odori dance preview! 🎎 🏮 🌸 ✨ 🍡
