Let's continue our artist showcase - KREMFEST 2022! kicks off tonight !

Beaming into the future for our Saturday night lineup, joining our fest again and for a Research showcase is Doctor Jeep !

" Doctor Jeep epitomizes what it is to be an artist in New York City's diverse cultural scene. Born to Brazilian parents, André Lira is a first-generation American who found his love for music when he picked up a guitar at eight-years-old. By 14, he had written his first album and posted it on a now-archived forum called Tabit, which granted him an award for the metal hardcore record. “I recently rediscovered it and I was like, ‘Damn, this is really good. How did I do this?’ I was a freshman in high school,” he shares. “I think I cried when I listened to it. I can’t believe that was better than any music I’ve ever made.” He's since gone on to rise up as an influential DJ, producer and artist, unwilling to compromise his broad spectrum of influences to stay in one lane and making moves across a variety of music styles and creative disciplines.

The jump from metal to dance music isn’t the only example of Doctor Jeep’s versatility. The moniker, taken from a serial killer character in Rayo Casablaca's mystery novel 6 Sick Hipsters, is used to reflect his grim and gritty music style. But the mystery element can also be used as an analogy for his music because you really never know what to expect. His last release, the ‘Reflexing EP,’ spanned from speedy 4x4 to ‘90s breakbeat to dark garage.

“It’s fun party music that’s both dark and light,” he responds when asked to describe his sound in one sentence. “I also like dancing to different types of music as well,” he adds. “I feel like doing one dance for an hour gets kind of tiring. Moving your body in different ways and in different speeds is always fun.” read the full interview on Mixmag.

Continuing our various headliner profiles for KREMFEST 2022!, if you don't know, get to know Seven Davis Jr.

"Sev" is a multi genre Singer, Songwriter and Producer. A bit reclusive, he prefers to spend time creating. On special occasions he will tour and or perform live. On rare occasions he might appear for a DJ set.

In 2012 singer songwriter producer Seven Davis Jr. appeared introducing his rare genre blending songs and sounds to the many worlds within international soul and dance music. From there he went on to record and share stages with artists like Honey Dijon, Fourtet, Moodymann, Hot Chip, Steve Spacek, Lion Babe, Flying Lotus, Mark Ronson plus much more.

All while learning how to DJ in the basement of (Gilles Petersons) Brownswood Recordings headquarters in London and on the spot touring around the globe. 2012 to 2014 he consistently released on various labels worldwide, quickly establishing himself as an innovative artist.

In 2015 he released conceptual debut LP “Universes” on Ninja Tune. Shortly after he intentionally took a sort of hiatus and went "off the beaten path', keeping a low profile underground. Self releasing several experimental projects until landing a full digital and vinyl distribution deal for his "Secret Angels" imprint in 2020.

In 2021, 7 years after hiatus, Seven Davis Jr. emerged above ground well aged and rejuvenated with a fresh new album titled “I See The Future”. He returned to touring, this time both a seasoned selector and live performer. Giving his older fans more to love and connecting with a new audience in a new age.

2022, he released "Siete Edits (round one)" mixtape, a collection of personal edits made/played on the road during his return to DJing.

Unfortunately his verified 40k plus Facebook artist page was hacked and Facebook refuses to help recover it. Follow @ sevendavisjr on Instagram meanwhile to stay up to date with his travels, new projects and in between adventures.

Seven Davis Jr will appear on Thursday to get the vibes right for the rest of the fest! On opening duties is Larry Mizell Jr. of KEXP.

It's only Monday of KREMFEST 2022! week (kicking off Thursday) so let's drift on in to what lays ahead by profiling the next dreamy Kremfest artist.

"Or:la is far more concerned by working out her next move than playing up to the crowd. “There’s definitely more of that than a big performance,” she says of her technique. “I’m always planning tracks ahead of what I’m playing, to judge where I want to take the room – that’s maybe why I always look so stern.”

Watching the Derry-born, Liverpool-based artist DJ between Room Two’s concrete walls it’s clear she likes to take the audience on a journey. From the funky grooves of SLG’s ‘I Love You But I’ve Chosen Disco’ to Four Tet’s sprawling, spellbinding masterpiece ‘Planet’, Or:la isn’t afraid to mix things up."

❤️✨ For our next KREMFEST 2022! artist feature we can't wait any longer to say that we are so excited to be joined by legendary US Drum and Bass and Jungle pioneer, Jordana. ✨❤️

Jordana LeSesne is an American musician and producer originally from Pittsburgh. In the 90s, she established herself as one of the early pioneers of U.S. Drum and Bass, releasing a few albums for the New York-based Jungle Sky label as well as a plethora of singles and remixes.

Her first signed work was an atmospheric Drum 'n' Bass remix of Blondie's "Atomic" in 1995 for EMI/Chrysalis. Liquid Sky Music then started releasing her music in 1996, beginning with the compilation track "Dis Soun'" featured on This Is Jungle Sky, Vol. 2. The New York label also released a few murderous albums in the subsequent years, beginning with When Worlds Collide (1997) and continuing through Quality Rolls (1998) and The Cities Collection (2000). The first two albums were released under a numerical alias that you may have been familiar with which she now considers a deadname.

As both a producer and DJ, Jordana has toured the world as a headliner. She has also worked with artists such as Mike Joyce (formerly of The Smiths), Debbie Harry and Blondie, Lady Sovereign, MC Kinky from London/ffrr, Yellownote and TC Izlam from Liquid Sky Records. In England she played UK Garage as Lady J on Flex FM and at Trinity Nightclub.

Jordana has been featured or appeared in Resident Advisor, SPIN, Rolling Stone, Knowledge (UK), VIBE, Raygun, Urb, Mixmag, Out Magazine, VICE and many more, and has been listed in Raygun's "Who's Who of International DJs". She also made Out Magazine's OUT100 in 1999. 2014 saw her named in Harriet Magazine as "12 women in black music history you should know". In 2015 Mixmag named her as "20 women who shaped the history of dance music".

Around 2014, Jordana scored the documentary Free CeCe produced and directed by Jacqueline Gares and actress/director Laverne Cox. Jordana has dedicated her career to speaking publicly about trans issues and Black Lives and has been featured in several cultural books including New York Times bestseller ‘The Rise of the Creative Class’ by Richard Florida, Michaelangelo Matos’s ‘The Underground is Massive’ and ‘Rave Culture, an Insider’s Overview’ by Jimi Fritz and Virginia Smallfry. This work is close to home for Jordana as she’s a hate crime survivor herself.

Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020, Jordana returned to public view with the politically-charged single ‘Fight For Our Lives’ and a handful of newer productions, teasing a full-album release. She DJ’ed part of Kremwerk’s online Pride celebrations as well as on Seattle, London and LA radio such as KEXP and dublab. In addition she performed on DnB Tuesdays Seattle's Livestream as her debut appearance at that event.

2021 saw her be invited by the prolific festival and brand Dekmantel to contribute to their podcast series and headlined on a lineup with Arca for Currents.fm as a part of Un/Tuck and Hot Mass. Additionally she appeared on the EQ50 Black Herstory stream which, supported by DJ Flight from the UK and DaFunk! made the debut appearance for the lineup online. Jordana was a writer and producer on the song “The Future” on Alpha Pup Records/ Producer Dojo with Mimi Page and ill.Gates August of 2021. An animated music video of "The Future" was also published to Youtube.

2022 will see Jordana return to performing in person at KREMFEST 2022!. Joined by DYER MC on the mic!

Unfortunately Jordana's official 14k+ page was taken over and then deleted and Facebook did not intervene so please use any other way to keep up with her work,
