SRSQ returns to the 2026 Verboden Music Festival 🪩
Down the alley, past the noise venue, beyond the goth club, there’s a red-velvet corner of the underground where everyone knows:

“It’s pronounced SEER-skew, and she’ll make you cry…”

You might even overhear the origin story, an operatic postpunk siren emerging from a stormy sea of public tragedy (Unreality, 2018), cast ashore in L.A. and learning to walk on dry land in her own two heels (Ever Crashing, 2022). A scene veteran with a what’s-in-your-bag fit for Greek myth, SRSQ has earned a worldwide rep as the diva of depression.

But now, singer/musician Kennedy Ashlyn is stripping off the opera gloves to get her hands dirty in every aspect of her project. As she stirs a dramatic streak of shoegaze into the messy cauldron of pop, where the boundaries of artist, genre, and medium dissolve, she gazes into SRSQ’s future with a new list of curiosities:

When the storm passes and the clouds part, how does a goddess of grief pass her days? In what new ways can she use these tempestuous powers of vulnerability? Mostly, she just wants to know: who else is out there, beyond the curtain of the underground, who might feel better if they could hear her voice?

Hot enough for you? Hot Hail! joins the Verboden 2026 music festival! 🥵

Hot Hail!, the solo project of Seattle songwriter Billy Sigil, combines classic Synthpop sensibilities and modern Darkwave maximalism to create a synthesis of the unsettling and the humane that keeps the darkness danceable and the horror cathartic.

Their full length album, 'All The Blood You Wanted,' debuted in March 2025 to critical accolades, and their second album, "Hope In Hell," will release in May 2026.

Known for their engaging and high energy live shows, Hot Hail! has also shared bills with national touring acts like Light Asylum, Urban Heat, Madeline Goldstein, and Meldamor.

They are the perfect music for both starting, then quickly ruining, any party.

"Like lightning in a jar of blood. In Hot Hail!’s deft hands, pop delivers both pleasure and political provocation. If you’re looking for the musical zeitgeist in these troubling times, Hot Hail! delivers."

“This is the sound of modern darkwave, and it’s as exciting as it can get.”

Ready or not you're about to evolve with MVTANT as they ooze back onto the Verboden Stage ☣️ here are a few captures of them from the last time they played the fest.

MVTANT was conceived in the fall of 2016 as a cassette tape industrial project: motorik lines pulse out of analog and primitive digital synthesizers while chains and screams sampled from VHS tapes onto 12-bit machines provide nightmares textures. In addition to classic post-punk, industrial and ebm artists, MVTANT is heavily influenced by horror and science fiction films, anime, literature, and graphic novels. The sound is both familiar and new, cacophonous and melodic, uncomfortable and pleasurable, like the violent colors that a dingy vcr head spews in scanlines across a tube tv, painful to stare at, but astonishingly vivid and captivating.

MVTANT's first release, Gore+Mirrorshade, is comprised of two EP's, created in 2016 and 2018, that were remixed and mastered for Vinyl in 2021. Low Culture + Metal Bodies, a collection of remixes and covers, was released in 2023, and the first full length album, Electronic Body Horror, was released in early 2024.

This year Blone Noble joins the madness of Verboden 2026 ✨

Blone Noble is known for blending shimmering synthesizers, post-punk energy, and the dramatic flair of artists like David Bowie and Fad Gadget. The sound is often described as “dark electronic ballads, dark disco detonation, [and] no-wave neck-snappers”. The lyrics often feature poetic, spoken-word tirades and explore themes of freedom, destruction, and occult musings.

Los Angeles-based Sacred Skin explore the vastness of spellbinding, anthemic pop music, masterfully blending distinctive new wave arrangements with powerhouse vocals.
