We are incredibly excited to announce that SoHo Playhouse of NYC will be in Scranton October 8–10, scouting work at the 2026 Scranton Fringe Festival for their International Fringe Encore Series!

The Series searches Fringe festivals around the world for standout productions, with select artists receiving opportunities for extended Off-Broadway runs at SoHo Playhouse in New York City.

And this is no small pipeline: past productions featured through the Series include Hannah Gadsby's Nanette, Alex Edelman's Just For Us, and Sam Morrison's Sugar Daddy, to name a few.

This is a pretty big deal for us, and an exciting opportunity for the artists who make Scranton Fringe what it is. 💛

Saints, sinners and a whole lot of rock 'n' roll. 😇🎸

Debra Buonaccorsi and Steve McWilliams bring their satirical folk-rock variety show to Black & Brass for the 2026 Scranton Fringe Festival! The Saints tells the fantastical, gruesome and surprisingly inspiring stories of Catholic saints.

They range from the famous (St. Francis of Assisi) to the gloriously obscure (St. Ursula and her 11,000 Virgins). The show blends vaudeville with a wide range of musical styles to reimagine centuries of holy lore.

The Washington Post calls it "equal parts devotion, subversion and wit." Washington City Paper says "there's no reason to miss them." We agree! 🙌

Sneak peek from tech rehearsal! 🎭✨

The trunks are packed, the wigs are teased and the lights are set. Wemore Ensemble has moved into the gorgeous Scranton Cultural Center Shopland Hall for Sixty to Curtain, and it's looking like a whole lot of fun.

Set in 2086, this reimagined Vaudeville-style musical follows a third-rate theater troupe bumbling through its final dress rehearsal before opening its next big show. Expect wild wigs, a giant hoop, live music and plenty of shenanigans. 🎶🤹

Sixty to Curtain was developed through Scranton Fringe's New Ensemble Development Program and premieres at the 2026 Scranton Fringe Festival. There are only TWO chances to see it:

Attention passengers traveling to Moscow: please proceed to your departure gate. ✈️

Olga, Masha and Irina have waited a lifetime for this flight. In Three Sisters Scranton, Chekhov's classic moves to an airport terminal as the three sisters finally prepare to board for Moscow. The bold new adaptation weaves Chekhov's text together with poetry and firsthand accounts of displacement and migration from Syria, India, Peru and beyond.

It's a familiar story told in a new way, about home and longing and the places we never quite reach, at the 2026 Scranton Fringe Festival.

Cordelia and Cecelia Zimmer are the pet world's most glamorous pet talent agents, and they're on the hunt for their next superstar. There's just one small problem: the agency is hiding a secret crisis, and they'll need the audience to help them figure out what's going on. 🤫

Glamour Puss is a totally improvised, totally interactive comedy, so no two shows will ever be the same. Real live animals will be in the room, and you might find yourself auditioning right alongside them. Bring your best head tilt. 😼

It's alive... and it has some things to say. ⚡🧪

oz is tired of Men, and the most reasonable conclusion is to become God. post-modern prometheus is a Frankenstein-esque tale about hating men, being a man, and becoming a man. It explores toxic transmasculinity through dating, philosophy and watching far too many movies.

Bold, sharp and unlike anything else at the 2026 Scranton Fringe Festival, this is exactly the kind of new work Fringe was made for.

He's either getting naturalized or deported, and you get a front-row seat. 🎪🌍

FORIEGNER landed on The Guardian's "Top 20 Must-See Shows" at the 2026 Edinburgh Fringe, and now it's coming to Strange Birds for the 2026 Scranton Fringe Festival. Created by Koan Brothers and performed by Sohrab Haghverdi, it's a dizzying, outrageous solo clown show about an Iranian asylum seeker's experience. It draws on Andy Kaufman and Sufi philosophy, and it refuses to play by anyone's rules.

Sandglass is a new horror-comedy written and directed by Paul Miscavage, starring Jonmichael Brennan and Christopher Alu. It's equal parts spooky, funny and surprisingly moving, and it's perfect for October at the 2026 Scranton Fringe Festival.
