NEPA Horror

NEPA Horror NEPA Horror at The Holiday Inn (Dunmore PA)
Saturday May 22nd 2027. Throughout the years, the event has grown with vendors, live acts, and special guests.

The NEPA Horror Fest began as the NEPA Horror Film Festival in October 2015 with an event at the River Street Jazz Cafe called “13 Short Films." We screened horror films from all around the world, including three locally-made films; it was a successful event with over 100 attendees.

Since then, the festival has done a handful of screenings at Ale Mary's at the Bittenbender in Scranton, Pennsylvania, specializing in screening shot-on-video low-budget cult classics from the 1980s and 1990s. Some of the feature-length films we have screened include Theodore Gershuny's Silent Night, Bloody Night (1972), John Wintergate's Boardinghouse (1982), Kevin Tenney's Night of the Demons (1988), Todd Sheets' Zombie Bloodbath series (1993, 1995, 2000), Todd Jason Cook's Death Metal Zombies (1995), John and Mark Polonia's Feeder's 2: Slay Bells (1998), Austin Bosley's Dismembering Christmas (2015), and Ryan Logsdon's Agoni (2015), Anna Biller's The Love Witch (2016).

In 2016, we hosted "13 Short Films 2," with a more expanded event schedule comprised of film screenings, vendor tables, stand-up comedy, Q&A panels, and even celebrity guests. Today, our event has joined forces with the Scranton Punk Rock Flea Market & Zinefest and has expanded to the Circle Drive-In in Dickson City, Pennsylvania to bring about a greater appreciation of independent filmmakers, visual artists, and musicians. The NEPA Horror Fest celebrates twice a year – in October for "13 Short Films" and in June for "Spooky Summer."

Dear spooky 80s/90s kids,

October is approaching, and if you’re anything like me it’s probably your favorite time of the year. You feel like you truly feel like yourself after a frigid-ass winter and a humid summer. But as we tend to get older, we may start to…not so much lose interest in the things about Halloween season that used to bring us so much joy, but…LIFE and ADULTHOOD just get in the way. And life’s hardships affect us all, whether we like to admit it or not.

So if you’re feeling down, and thinking about sitting out and not participating this season, I just want to say this…

Tomorrow is not promised. There’s no telling what the future may bring.

𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐎𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐑. 🦇🎃

• Eat that candy
• Go to that party
• Wear the silly costume
• Get engaged in a pumpkin patch
• F**k it, get divorced in a pumpkin patch
• Stay up late watching your favorite horror movies
• Hand out candy to trick or treaters
• Put up your decorations
• Take your bad ass kids trick or treating
• Buy a costume for your pet

Go all out. Be yourself. And love every spooky fu***ng second of it. You’re awesome and you fu***ng deserve the best spooky season of your life!

-Bobby 💀🫶

We have gotten a significant amount of new followers since we began announcing the line up for our May 22nd 2027 event, so allow me to introduce myself! I’m Bobby Keller (Founder & Organizer). NEPA Horror began in 2015 as an independent horror short film festival. I am proud to say that over the years I have been able to screen films and showcase the works of over 200 independent filmmakers from all around the world. As the years went on, the festival began to incorporate more horror conventions aspects to it, such as vendors, celebrity meet & greets, etc. In 2019 we began doing events at Circle Drive-In and still do til this day.

I’ve had the honor and privilege of hosting not only amazing icons of the genre, but just straight up amazing and wonderful human beings, like Joe Bob Briggs , Felissa Rose , Lisa Gaye , Bill Moseley , Clint Howard , frankhenenlotterofficial , Miko Hughes , Brinke Stevens , Linnea Quigley , Amanda Wyss - Caffrey , virginiamadsen , William Forsythe , William Ragsdale , and more!

If you’re a horror fan in 2026 and grew up in the 80s and 90s like me, this upcoming event is for you. I think it’s safe to say most of us had a “gateway” into horror and it was probably Goosebumps, Eerie Indiana, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, etc etc. Mine was BRIDE OF BOOGEDY, and I’m honestly still afraid of that movie to this day 🤣

We had our first “90s” themed event last month with Danny Cooksey , Ross Hull , and Shaun Herman Weiss which was an absolute blast!

Anyway, hello! 👋 I’m glad you’re here and you’re excited for our event!
