General Charles Scott DAR chapter for Scott County planted a beautiful tulip poplar tree in the front yard in honor of our 250th anniversary of the USA! A big thanks goes to Chris & Ruby Wakeman for their very hard work preparing the planting in the hard ground. But, it is beautiful!

A big thank you all for coming today to the Museum for the Pigeon Roost Pioneers Heritage Days although the rain put a damper on a lot of the things planned plus illnesses. But, we appreicate all that came and thank you to the Pilot Club for being there for children with old time games. We heard from one young lady that she enjoyed learning to play croquet and using the hoola hoop. Thanks to all that worked so hard on this project. Hope to see you tomorrow at the Pigeon Roost site for the rededication ceremony and all of the items that are going to be in the cabin there. Included in the cabin is the rope bed an feather mattress plus several other items. See you tomorrow and it is promising to being a beautful day. Starts at Noon with the pitch-in luncheon.

🀄 Want to learn how to play Mahjong? Now’s your chance!

Join us at the Scott County Heritage Center & Museum in Scottsburg, Indiana on Thursday, October 22 for a beginner-friendly Mahjong class with instructor Lisa Franklin!

Whether you've been curious about Mahjong, have friends who play, or are simply looking for a fun new hobby, this class is designed for beginners. Lisa will walk you through the basics of the game in a small-group setting, so no previous experience is required.

Two sessions are available, with only 4 participants per session, so space is extremely limited!
