Taco Daze is coming up on Saturday, September 7th. Below is the list of events for the day.

At the Scandia Community Center:

Raising of the Flag by the Scouts – 10 am
Pickleball Tournament (Scandia Parks and Recreation) – 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
Vendors, Farmers Market, and Non-Profits – 10 am – 4 pm
Car, Truck, and Tractor Show – 10 am – 4 pm
Scandia-Marine Lions Food Truck – 10 am – 4 pm
Food Trucks – 10 am – 4 pm
Games and Activities for Children – 10 am – 4 pm
Meister’s Beer Garden – 10 am – 5 pm
Scouts Selling Tacos – 11 am – 4 pm
Firefighters Waterball Competition 12 pm – 1 pm
Crafts for Youth and Adults in the Heritage Room – 1 pm – 2:30 pm
Coin Scramble for Children – 2 pm – 2:45 pm
…..Ages 5 and under – 2:30 pm
…..Ages 6-7 – 2:40 pm

Running of the Meatballs – 3:30-4 pm
Parade (starts at the t-ball field on Oakhill Road and travels to the west towards Scandia Elementary School) – 4 – 4:30 pm

Scandia-Marine Lions Club's Taco Daze ended with a parade. Many thanks to all those who participated in the parade - sharing their time and creativity, and those who generously gave candy and treats to parade watchers! The parade was a wonderful ending to a fun day! See you next year on the Saturday following Labor Day.

Children, teens, and adult gathered in the Heritage Room to make a tomte. Many thanks to Darlene Holtgreve for making the kits for those who wanted to do the craft.

Minnesota Armored Combat was at Taco Daze on Saturday, September 9, 2023. They did a demonstration from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and then were in the parade at 4 p.m.

The Running of the Meatballs is one of Gammelgården's major fundraisers for the year. There always is a last-minute dash to get tickets before they sell out. This year, members from the Sister City delegation opened the gate and released the meatballs.

The meatballs traveled down Oakhill to the finish line. The first 10 meatballs in the winners' chute as well as the last meatball won prizes.

The Scandia Community Center grounds were full with vendors (artists, crafters, businesses, non-profits, and farmers), food trucks, the new playground, children's games and activities, and more!
