An empty room can tell on a speaker.

Before the applause, before the outfit, before the mic gets hot, somebody has to decide your name belongs on the program.

Most speakers are not ready for that.

This 5-second clip is the room being prepared for our Canadian showcase in Regina, Canada.

Tables dressed.
Microphones waiting.
A small stage holding big assignment.
That quiet-before-the-miracle hush.

Today, we are celebrating Dr. Natasha Williams.

Her story is crossing borders.

SpeakFest was never built to be a cute weekend where speakers clap, take selfies, and go home with a notebook full of “one day.”

No, beloved.

SpeakFest is for speakers who are ready to move.

We put voices on real stages.
We create opportunities beyond the conference room.
We help speakers get positioned for corporations, colleges, universities, and institutions that can book them again and again.

That is the business most people are not teaching.

A lot of people can help you make a better speech.

But who is teaching you how to become tour-ready?

Who is teaching the assets, proof, follow-up, packaging, positioning, and authority needed to be invited into rooms like this?

Who is showing you how your story becomes something institutions can trust with their audience, students, employees, community, and brand?

The stage is only the visible part.
The road is built in the unseen.

The pitch.
The proof.
The positioning.
The relationships.
The receipts.

The ability to walk in as more than talented.

Prepared.
Bookable.
Undeniable.

When you see this room, see a speaker being taken seriously.

See a name traveling ahead of the body.

See a story given a room before the voice arrives.

Dr. Natasha Williams, we are celebrating you.

If your message is too big to stay local, you need to be at the next SpeakFest.

If your story belongs in other cities, other states, other countries, you need to be at the next SpeakFest.

Next year, we are watching for the ones who are ready to be sent.

The room in Canada was not the surprise.

The surprise was how many people still did not understand what a stage like this could become.

I am going to show you.

Most speakers lie.

And SpeakFest exposed a lot of those lies.

They were not just lying on the stage.

Most of them were lying in their photos.

Let me pull back the curtain.

At SpeakFest, we had a private professional photographer available to provide professional headshots for the people who attended. Not as a cute bonus. As a business asset.

That was one of the things that made SpeakFest different.

Most conferences teach you how to give a better talk. SpeakFest taught people how to build a business around speaking, how to tour, how to get paid, and how to stop showing up like gifted amateurs.

Today’s lesson:

Stop trying to get booked with photos from a version of you that no longer exists.

A 10-year-old photo.
A 5-year-old photo.
A 2-year-old photo.
Sometimes even last year’s photo.

And let me confess first. I was guilty too.

I had professional photos done last year, but I have also lost over 80 pounds. Many of my photos were taken in that transformation, so even though they were recent, I was still significantly larger in most of them.

A photo can be recent and still be outdated.
Beautiful and still untrue.
Professional and still old skin.

If your body changed, hair changed, makeup changed, message changed, or money changed, your photos need to change too.

Speaker tip: take new professional photos at least twice a year. Minimum. If you change hairstyles, makeup, brand energy, or stage presence often, take them more.

One hairstyle can change your whole face.
One makeup look can change your whole spirit.
One transformation season can make old photos feel like borrowed clothes.

And headshots are only the beginning.

You need an EPK.
A demo reel.
Stage photos.
Video proof.
Receipts.

Because if there is no proof that it happened, in this industry, it almost did not happen.

This is Part 1 of the SpeakFest breakdown.

Over the next few days, I am going to show you the play-by-play of what we gave, what it cost, what we learned, and why next year’s ticket is not just a seat.

It is access.

Almost a $400,000 loss.

But the photographer was not the wound.

The real bleeding started somewhere else.

Stay close.
