Another Poobah ARTIST FEATURE! Frances De Vargas () is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Brooklyn, New York. Her songs blend old-time folk music, country, and alternative rock influences with a 21st-century indie rock tilt. With a pen that is playfully surrealistic but painfully realistic, transporting their audience somewhere sad, true and certain, De Vargas continues to craft a unique sound and dedicated community of folkies.

Introducing another Poobah 2025 artist, The Stevenson Ranch Davidians! ()

Steeped in the aura of the perennially mythologized psychedelic culture of Southern California, then relocating to the Hudson Valley, The Stevenson Ranch Davidians has, since 2006, revealed itself in shifting configurations; making music influenced by the timeless essence of ‘60s psych, folk and soul, woven with strands of early American roots music. While the lineup has continually coalesced around lead singer and songwriter Dwayne Seagraves, the collective has always had a guiding vision and goal: to create music that seeks to simultaneously demystify and deify the human experience.

The other members bring a range of talent, experience and inspiration to The Stevenson Ranch Davidians’ sound. In addition to co-founding member and Davidians’ bassist, Jessica Latiolait, the band includes the sole Englishman in the fold and composer by day, Misha Bullock on drums and background vocals, as well as Sara Minsavage on keyboards and percussion. The newest addition to the collective, on guitar and pedal steel is Tyler Love, whose past endeavors include playing guitar and keyboards for Brooklyn-based band, Roya, and producing and engineering another Brooklyn-based band, Habibi.

After releasing their third LP, Amerikana, in 2017 the band embarked on two extensive European tours in 2019 and 2020. In early 2020 they began a residency in San Francisco until being forced into an indefinite hiatus due to various governmental mandates during the Covid outbreak.

The band re-emerged in the summer of 2023 to jump back into the live music circuit and begin writing new material. In March of 2025 they spent 10 days at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La Studio in Malibu, California recording what will be their fourth LP for release in Fall of 2025.

Let’s welcome back a Poobah favorite from last year, The Burkharts. From the sunny shores of Buffalo, NY, this band accurately channels major Beach Boys energy, as well as taking influence from bands like The Beatles, The Lemon Twigs, and other bands with 60s surf pop/rock vibes. We’re happy to have them back!

Poobah is getting even closer, which means it’s time to introduce another musical act. For all of you blues fans, now here’s something we hope you’ll really like! From just across the lake in Burlington, this fiery group of young players with a passionate energy for classic blues is called All Night Boogie Band!

All Night Boogie Band is a blues, rock & roll, and soul-inspired band hailing from the Green Mountains of Burlington, Vermont. Formed in late 2021, the young yet experienced quintet expresses a unique sound full of originality, vigor, and dedication to the resonance of great American music.

All Night Boogie Band won “Vermont Rising Stars” in the 2023 New England Music Awards and were nominated for “Best Blues Artist” in the 2023 Seven Daysies Awards. They were featured as a Relix Magazine “Artist on the Rise” in their July 2022 Edition, won Vermont’s 2023 Blues Challenge, and were Semifinalists at the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee in January 2023.

We’d like to introduce you to some bands/artists who are joining us from other areas to be at Poobah 2025! To start us off, here are our friends, Mojohand (.music)!

New Jersey-born, Brooklyn-based band Mojohand have been writing rockin, country-soul-soaked songs and playing them in every bar, backyard, and basement willing to have them for the past seven years. Their energetic and melodic brand of rock & roll, ginger soul, and Jersey twang has won over crowds from coast to coast.

Fresh off their tour with and also fresh off the release of their third studio LP, Dungarees (on .records), this band is rockin’ and rollin’ like a well oiled machine. We are happy to have them at this year’s Poobah!
