Berlin-based seven-piece ensemble Jembaa Groove crafts a sound that effortlessly bridges continents and generations. Formed in 2020 by bassist/producer Yannick Nolting and Ghanaian percussionist/vocalist Eric Owusu, the group blends traditional West African highlife rhythms with classic soul and contemporary jazz influences.
Described as “a groovy blend of traditional West African and highlife rhythms infused with classic jazz and soul touchpoints,” Jembaa Groove's music is elevated by Owusu's rich vocals, sung in Twi, Ga, and Pidgin English.
