I loved sharing this conversation with Robert Holden about Your Angelic Ancestry and one of the most important ideas at the heart of the book: the help we seek may already be with us.

Robert so beautifully shared that while reading the book, he felt it had โ€œthe presence of an Angel,โ€ and that it would find its way to those who most need its message. His words touched me deeply.

We also explored a question Iโ€™m often asked: If the Angels are already with us, why do we invoke them?

In my experience, invocation isn't about bringing the Angels to us. It's about bringing ourselves into greater awareness of them. Like preparing a beautiful table for a beloved guest, we are preparing our consciousness to receive the guidance, love, and assistance that are already available.

Our soul doesn't need to become worthy or ready. Our soul is already the sacred space. We are simply opening ourselves to receive. โœจ

Beloveds, here I am under the Your Angelic Ancestry billboard in Times Square.
Here's what I hope. Somebody is walking through this Square today feeling that this world is not quite their home, wondering if anyone else feels that way. And they look up. And a billboard says gently: you have never felt at home here, and you're not broken. You come from Angels.

Maybe they think, that's strange. And then, but it feels somehow true. And they keep looking. And something in them starts to make sense. The sensitivity. The intuition they can't explain. The thing other people pick up on when they say "you're such an Angel" or "there's just something about you." Not a flaw. A lineage. Maybe they begin to wonder if they are an Angel in the flesh, or even an Archangel, and that the magic they have felt their whole life was their heritage all along.

When I was 21 I lived a few blocks from that billboard. A former premed student, a Southern belle, mystically called to New York to be an actress. I parked my car across the street to go look at an apartment, and when I came back the car was gone with every possession I owned inside it. I knew one person in this city. I had no parental support. Somehow I stayed. Somehow I survived, and then I thrived. My spiritual awakening rose alongside my creative expression right here. I had a blast, and at times it was so hard, being such a sensitive, very young woman in New York City on my own. But as we know, none of us are truly alone.

If I could see her again I would wrap my arms around her. I would tell her to look up. I would tell her that her life would not turn out anywhere close to what she imagined at 21, and that it would be more than she knew to ask for.

And I think she would have looked up at that billboard, and felt seen, and been curious, and maybe her step would have lifted a few inches off the ground. As if a promise were already seeded in her, even then.

May you hug your younger self today. May you give thanks for your life. ๐Ÿ’œ

To me, Dolly's life force is even greater now. We have the biggest, most luminous presence with us, everywhere.

My son Daniel was on Hannah Montana, and Dolly was incredibly kind to him. She gave him a big old hug when he walked onto the set at nine years old. Her presence lit up not just the studio, but the entire building, with that million watt smile.

She would get down on her knees, or at least bend down to his level, so a nine year old would not feel intimidated by her. That is who she was.

She never had a single scene with Daniel.

And she is still the one he remembers most from that set.

Of course, she was a brave and fearless troubadour, and she left us some of the most iconic songs of our time. But her musical talent was matched, and probably outmatched, by her huge heart.

I love this quote, because how many of us worry about getting older? And that worry is misplaced.

What we should worry about is not appreciating the preciousness of life. The way the Light shines from our child's eyes. The way it comes through the green leaves of a tree dancing in the wind. The way it calls us from within to be of service, to be kind, to contribute.

That we can do at any age. And I believe Dolly did it until her last breath.

My family lives in North Carolina and is from Tennessee, so of course we would always go to Dollywood. Most of the proceeds, I am sure, went straight into her philanthropy.

How many kids learned to read because of her?
How many kids got books because of her?
How many people were fed?
Clothed?
Comforted?

That is the kind of legacy that goes far beyond music. Dolly's Light, Love, and generosity will keep touching lives everywhere. โค๏ธโœจ
