🎤 The Mayor has the envelope.
Mayor Michael Garcia announces the winners of the 2026 Burning of Zozobra National Anthem Competition — led by the New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus, who earned a perfect score from all seven judges and will sing the National Anthem immediately before el Viejo burns on Friday, September 4.
They weren’t alone. Five voices earned a place on Santa Fe’s biggest stages this year:
🔥 New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus — 102nd Burning of Zozobra, Sept. 4
🍷 Lorenzo Luján — Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta
🎆 Sofia Beals — New Year’s Eve on the Santa Fe Plaza, Dec. 31
🎇 Alfredo Beltrán — July 4th Fireworks, 2027
🤟 Elias Curley — signing the National Anthem alongside the grand prize winners, Sept. 4
Congratulations to every singer who auditioned. Santa Fe does not lack for voices.
