Santa Barbara Dance Arts is celebrating 25years of community, confidence, and joy! We can help with wedding dance lessons, flash mobs, and event entertainment.

Santa Barbara Dance Arts is celebrating 23 years of community, artistry, and the core belief that dance lessons teach life lessons. Under the direction of Alana Tillim, Dance Arts promises to provide a safe and healthy place for emerging and pre-professional artists. We are a full-service studio that offers recreational and pre-professional classes for ages 2-72 (we want that number to keep growing!). We rent studio space for artists, events, and family friendly parties or we can be the host! Our popular birthday parties are not limited to kids… we can give your bachelorette party or next girls weekend a twist! We are proudly partnered with the non-profit Arts Mentorship Program and our relationship allows us to bring the healing gift of dance to our community's most vulnerable populations through scholarships and programs. Together, we help local artist find affordable rehearsal space in order to maintain Santa Barbara’s thriving arts culture. More than this, we are a hub for the arts community to collaborate and create. Come dance with us! performed on MTV, Cirque du Soleil, and stages across the globe, while our alumni and student teachers bring a sense of community and tradition that is important at Dance Arts. Our unique partnership with the Arts Mentorship Program allows us to offer scholarships and affordable rehearsal space at our beautiful studios. Plus, our unprecedented master class series feature superstars from So You Think You Can Dance and America’s Best Dance Crew. Destination Dance, our famed summer camp, offers flexibility and fun for your dancer and a unique opportunity to train intensively and improve performance and technique. ✨COMPANY DANCERS OF THE WEEK SEASON 29✨

Lucia Luevanos is 14 years old and is a freshman at San Marcos High School. She is currently in the company Axis and is super excited for the year. Lucia started dancing at SBDA when she was 4 and has been dancing for 10 years now. She’s been in company for about 5 years now, she was also the captain of Emerge. This is Lucia’s third year on TDA and her first time competing a solo! She’s been to several classes in LA, mainly at the studio called Offstage. In the future, she wishes to audition for Offstages companies and hopefully compete with them. She also hopes to go to college somewhere here in California. Her biggest inspiration is a choreographer named Angelo Rivera and her sister Laura. A few life skills dance has helped Lucia develop is public speaking, confidence, and discipline. This year she wants to include our theme UNITY by being closer with everyone around her and socializing more. She’s so excited for this season!

Naomi Medina is a 13-year-old 8th grader at Goleta Valley Junior High School, where she participates in ASB Leadership. She has been dancing since age 4 and has been with SBDA since she was 5. This is her first year in the company, and she is excited to be a part of Impact and TDA after previously participating in Junior Crew, Emerge, Peak Performer, and Apprentice. Naomi loves taking master classes and summer intensives, and she has enjoyed performing in the Student Showcase for the past three years. To her, SBDA is more than just dance—it is a place where she has built many wonderful friendships. In her free time, Naomi enjoys listening to music, shopping, and spending time with her friends and family. In the future, she aspires to pursue a career as a professional dancer, actor, or lawyer.

It made me think of you.

At every stage, from first pliés to perfecting pointe, unity is what brings us together. From our littles just beginning to our older dancers leading by example, every dancer has a place in our community. Through kindness, encouragement, and connection, we remind each other that dance is about more than the steps. It’s about growing together, supporting one another, and making sure everyone feels they belong.

Here’s to every dancer who helps make Dance Arts feel like home.

Thank you, Santa Barbara! We are so honored to hold the title of Santa Barbara's favorite dance studio for over 20 years. Our faculty and staff pour their hearts into this studio and program. We care deeply about our families and our dancers, making this honor mean so much to our team. So thank you, families, for trusting us with your kids and appreciating all of our hard work.

✨COMPANY DANCERS OF THE WEEK SEASON 29✨

Brynn Wood is a freshman at San Marcos High School and has been dancing for three years. Her love for dance began at a young age, when she spent a couple of years dancing at Santa Barbara Dance Arts as a preschooler. After taking some time away, Brynn returned to dance and quickly rediscovered how much she absolutely loves it. For Brynn, dance is a way for her to express herself, process what she’s feeling, and let go of the stress and anxiety that can come with everyday life. Brynn’s faith is also a very important part of her life. She is grateful for the gifts God has given her, including her love of dance, and she hopes to use those gifts to bring joy, encouragement, and positivity to others. Brynn is grateful for the joy, confidence, friendships, and sense of freedom that dance brings into her life. She is excited to continue pursuing her passion and see where God and dance take her!

Sienna Germano is 11 yrs old, but soon to be 12 in December. She is currently a 6th grader at Roosevelt Elementary School. This is her first year on company in Impact, although Sienna has been a SBDA student since she was a 3 yrs old, taking Hip Hop classes. She eventually joined mini Crew in 2019-2020, where she got to participate in her first competition. She did assistant teaching last year for Ballet 1 and Jazz 1, and loved helping out. Sienna also did student showcase for several years and had so much fun being a part of it. Sienna’s passion in life is dance; it’s a place where she gets to express her emotions & creativity. SBDA has also brought new friendships. Sienna has a dream of becoming a pro dancer & designer, So When she’s not dancing, she loves sewing, baking, hanging out with her friends & family, as well as playing with her little Yorkie, Fonzie.
