Dear Friends,

For anyone who must have thought I've given up on Mission Jazz, I haven't. I've had to be silent, but here's the story I've been waiting until now to tell.

Around 2.5 years ago, I stumbled upon this very interesting idea of a residential cruise ship. Since it was in it's drawings and models stage, I did my research and the builders were very transparent about their goals. I purchased a unit, a very small one, probably the smallest they have available. However, I also got myself a spot in their founder's circle advisory board.

The concept of a floating city block that included everything from 20 restaurants, a gigantic spa, western and eastern wellness centers and really, everything you'd want is included in one fee. They circumvent the planet every three years and stay at ports for an average of four days. Okay, sold.

As I studied the blueprints, I couldn't help noticing that they planned for an IMax theatre and I thought, that can definitely be better use for that space. I proposed Mission Jazz for the ship - as a live stream show which can expand to visiting communities near ports around the world, make new music, tell new stories and dance.

It was of course met with a, no.

However, I was informed that since then my ideas were well studied an adopted. Instead of an IMax theatre, the plans are now to build a performance space, sound stage and recording studio - next to the after hours club.

Of course there are a lot of conversations to be had and a lot of work to do before this vision becomes reality. I invite all Mission Jazzers, our supporters and anyone who is interested to know more of this project to please contact me and let me know your thoughts. I would be very grateful for your input during these building years.

In the end, I think we can make a meaningful program that can be live streamed and archived on our channel.
