Yesterday I received some awful news that I lost a very good friend of mine to Stage 4 stomach cancer. Darrell fought hard, almost to the point where I thought he beat it. He never let it get to him and he kept living his life like nothing was wrong.
He was a big brother to me. Even though we didn’t talk everyday, we would always check in on each other the holidays.
With that being said, check in on your friends more often! And make sure you tell them that you love them. In the midst of all the madness and confusion going on in the world, all we really have is our friends and family in the end. We’re here for a good time, not a long time. It’s our responsibility to ourselves and each other that we share those good and bad times. We shouldn’t let something tragic happen for us to realize that and act on it. Communication is everything.
Darrell, I love you and I miss you bro. Rest easy.
F**k cancer.
