Indie Man is the official mascot of Carolina Indie Fest and will be overseeing tonight’s trivia (7pm start) as Monster of Ceremonies. There will be three competitive rounds of trivia for which standard prizes are awarded and one lightning round of only questions about Carolina Indie Fest. The winner of the latter round will win Indie Fest shirts for their trivia team.

Tonight’s competition categories are Carolina, Indie & Fest. To be clear - none of the answers in those three categories are related to Carolina Indie Fest, but the lightning round will be only questions (and answers) about Indie Fest.

Trivia is free, starts at 7pm at Beer Hall | Brewery Sanford NC and is mostly legal in this and several other states. See you tonight!

VIP badges arrived today! Available for one, or both, days of the festival these badges are a great value with dinner, commemorative Indie cup and a couple drinks included. You also get access to the best seats in the house - the brewery - where we rub elbows with the bands and all manner of rock and/or rollers. If you love rock and roll then DÅZR has to be in your playlist somewhere. High energy, big sound, a guy with the last name Hendrix on guitar, lots of hair ... did I travel back in time? DAZR almost made me forget it was the year 2026!

Hailing from South Carolina, DAZR has been on the scene for four years performing live and releasing high quality videos like this one. They embody the spirit of independence and hard work that is part of the rock and roll tradition, “no backing tracks, no autotune, no production padding to paper over the cracks. Just guitars, bass, drums and a voice.”

DAZR hits the stage at 8:45pm on Saturday, Sept 26th. While not at Indie you might find them sharing the stage with L.A. Guns, Lynch Mob, Quiet Riot, Plush & former Indie Fest alums Pageant .

Coming up Tuesday night at Beer Hall | Brewery Sanford NC it’s celebrity trivia night with guest host Indie Man.

Indie Man is the creature we adopted as our mascot for the festival. There were maybe some miscommunications in his development so he has faun legs with hooves, a blue body (with Indie Man tattoo) and a cow skull with googly eyes for a head. He may be a monstrosity but he’s our monstrosity. Or she. Lots going on there.

Every guest host gets to pick their charity of choice. Today we donated $100 to Zoomies Funny Farm at the request of Ryan Morgan at Raven Forge Games for his awesome guest hosting on this Tuesday past. I imagine Indie Man might choose the Sanford Area Arts Coalition, the nonprofit that now operates Carolina Indie Fest, for his charity. We shall see on Tuesday - join us at 7pm as usual for a good time!

Put some Carolina Indie Fest between your ears with our Fall 2026 Playlist!

First up, the YouTube version (Spotify to follow). Everyone has their own preferred platform, YouTube allows me to see how musicians perform on stage. If you submitted to Carolina Indie Fest as a musician you were asked to submit links to music on YouTube for just that reason.

This is just one song by each artist, the intent is to give you an overview of the festival bands, you can always visit the bands page on our website to to find links of where to listen to more of any particular band.

Some notes on the selections ... David Michael Miller is part of Miller and the Other Sinners, David will be performing solo on Friday night at 5pm but I don’t have recordings of him solo. So enjoy the whole band, they’re fantastic and maybe David will get them to a future Indie Fest. Also included are some fun videos by some of the artists including Modern Moxie, Charlsee & Cam, and Oort Patrol. Also included is an honest to goodness music video that looks ripped from MTV days (are they still putting music videos on their channel?) from DAZR.

When it comes to order of songs the only intent there was to try and keep the playlist uptempo. This required a little bit of doing because not all of my favorite songs from these artists are uptempo. DAZR is at the end but they well could have, and maybe should have, been at the beginning. It’s all debatable but one thing you can’t debate - this is some fantastic music. Very excited yet again to hear our Indie artists live on stage!

Calling all mall cops! We need a security person for Friday night Sept 25th to watch over the stage and vendor wares at Carolina Indie Fest

This is not a “professional” gig - we want someone with a phone to call police if they see suspicious activity. Our security cameras are fine for documentation purposes but we always employ real time help. All you gotta do is stay awake and have a charged phone.

You will have access to bathrooms and conditioned space (in case of any potential poor weather). It’s a cushy job for an insomniac.

Hailing from Lexington, Mississippi, Twurt Chamberlain is performing at Carolina Indie Fest this Fall.

Twurt is an exciting musician - his songs have a lot of energy and there’s an urgency behind them. It’s not just the lyrics, those alone would mark him as a soulful rebel, it’s also his melodies and vocals that are attention grabbing. He’s a musician who won’t let you be distracted by his music.

He’s also the only musician to perform at Carolina Indie Fest who has a film, titled “Country Punk Black”, about he and his music. Produced by the University of Mississippi it follows Twurt’s journey as an artist and where he hopes to take his music. Beyond the additional insight into this unique artist the fact that someone is producing a short film about him really underscores how interesting his approach to music really is.

Many Indie musicians perform some form of genre bending music, I believe the term “Americana” was coined as a catch-all this blending of genres and styles. Twurt uses blues, country, rock, some punk and rap to create his music. And it’s not so much a blending of approaches as it is a set of tools used to craft a tune. It works, and I’m really looking forward to hearing it in person. Twurt Chamberlain takes the stage on Saturday, Sept 26th at 7:30pm.

Re-Introducing … Oort Patrol - the sexiest temporally ambivalent punk rock band in most dimensions. Natives of Sanford and Cary, they are no strangers to Carolina Indie Fest having performed here a couple times including our second ever Indie Fest.

When not overseeing the galactic and benevolent Oort Patrol Foundation (OPF) they are found pushing their band concept to the limits in new spaces including an animated music video (check our website blog post today for a link to that).

Oort Patrol will rock the stage and win your heart(s) (this one’s for you people of Gallifrey) on Saturday Sept 25th at 5pm at Carolina Indie Fest.

With three drink tickets, dinner and covered VIP seating included these are a steal. You can purchase online (preferred) or at the Beer Hall | Brewery Sanford NC front bar - if purchasing in person you will be reminded to keep a copy of your receipt.
