Hey GRIT runners. Our RDs issued this statement today, pertaining to Race the Wolf specifically. But there's a ton of uncertainty everywhere right now, so I'm cross-posting so hopefully everyone catches it. Each race in the series will be evaluated as race day nears.
At present, we're still proceeding as planned. We'll provide an update on March 31st. Until then, keep up the solo running, stay healthy and wash your hands - Rebekah

COVID-19 and Race the Wolf
Race organizers of Race the Wolf are continuing to monitor COVID-19 conditions. Our participants and their families are our most important consideration. As of this date March 16, 2020, the race remains scheduled for the weekend of June 26, 27, 28. Race organizers will continue to evaluate conditions and make the most prudent decisions as possible.
With almost three months until race day, we feel the best plan of action is to allow time to provide us with more indications of the actual conditions on race day. We will provide a follow up and update on March 31st.
As a small event operated in a mountain wilderness area, we have some flexibility and control of several aspects of the race to provide for public and participant safety. At this time race operation plans remain in place, but may be modified if needed. POSSIBLE modifications that are being considered at this time are as follows:
- Placing an entry cap on the race
- Providing course and starting procedures to disburse runners on the course individually
- Changes to aid station food and water using only manufacturer sealed containers
- Using check in procedures that eliminate lines and gathering of athletes
- Additional modifications as needed to ensure participant safety based on best practices
We will continue to monitor the direction and advice of our local health authority Panhandle Health, and any CDC guidelines.
We appreciate your patience as we are evaluating these changing conditions and will provide updated information on March 31st, and continually until race day.
Thank you,
Mike and Ken, RDs
