🚨 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! 🚨

Invitations for the Linda C. Knuutila Memorial Wrestling Tournament have officially been sent out! 🤼‍♂️🤼‍♀️

Coaches — be sure to check your inbox, and please reach out to Ally or Kristin Knuutila with any questions regarding the tournament.

But you may notice something a little different this year… 👀

WE’RE CHANGING THE NAME! 💙💛

Beginning this year, our tournament will officially take on a new name that will carry forward for years to come.

While the name is changing, the heart behind this tournament remains the same — honoring family, carrying on a legacy, and celebrating the sport and wrestling community that mean so much to us.

We’re keeping the new name a secret just a little longer… 🤫

Any guesses?! 👀👇 Drop them in the comments!

Official name reveal coming soon! 🏆💙💛

🏆 The Legacy Lives On🏆

The Knuutila family is proud to announce the 2026 Linda C. Knuutila Memorial Invitational Wrestling Tournament, returning to SUNY Niagara on December 18-19, 2026.

What began as a way to honor Linda “Mama Coach” Knuutila has grown into a celebration of the values that both Linda and Coach K embodied—family, service, dedication, and a love for the sport of wrestling.

This year’s event will feature some exciting changes as we continue to grow and evolve! Tournament invitations will be sent out shortly, and we have plans for some rebranding and new additions to the event.

Stay tuned as we prepare for what we believe will be our biggest and most meaningful tournament yet!

Thank you to everyone who has supported this event over the years. Your support allows us to continue honoring two people who gave so much to the wrestling community and touched countless lives along the way.

Ken-Ton sophomore, 𝑴𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒏𝒛𝒊𝒆 𝑽𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓-𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒔, certainly has been among the breakout stars of the 2025-2026 campaign...

A State qualifier last year as a 9th grader; the 185-pounder is looking like she'll be making a solid run at the podium in 2026 as she remained perfect (15-0) after claiming the hardware at the Lockport Girls Tournament...

Seeded 2nd in the bracket; Vetter-Higgins banked one of the biggest wins of her career when she jumped out to a 5-0 cushion before sticking returning State 5th, 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐲𝐚`𝐉 𝐌𝐚𝐱𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 (Lockport), in a time of 1:42....

In the semis, she'd strike for the last four points of the 2nd period to pick up a 4-1 decision against 2024 State Qualifier, 𝐑𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫, of Clarence!!

Vetter-Higgins has now logged tournament wins at three separate events---Knuutila Memorial, Chautauqua Lake Invitational, and the Lockport!

𝑹𝒂𝒚𝒅𝒐𝒏 𝑨𝒃𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒉 continues to be the bad draw in every bracket in which he enters...

Defying his seed on a routine basis; the Lackawanna sophomore lightweight followed up wins at the Knuutila (3rd seed) and 57th Akron Holiday tournament by winning the 118-pound crown this past weekend at the 32nd Lockport Tourney...

Again finding himself on the #3 line; the returning Sectional Bronze medalist registered takedowns in each of the three periods to emerge with a 9-7 decision over 2025 DI State 8th/top-seeded, 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐫 (Niagara Falls)...

Happy New Year! 🎉

We wish all of our local wrestlers, coaches, officials, and families a safe, healthy, and successful year of wrestling. May 2026 bring hard work, big moments, and continued growth both on and off the mat.

Thank you for being part of what makes this event so special and for helping us honor Linda’s legacy year after year!❤️

We’re already counting down the days and can’t wait to welcome you all back next December for the 2026 Linda C. Knuutila Memorial Invitational Tournament. Until then—keep working hard and chasing your goals! 💪🤼‍♂️🤼‍♀️
