☀️🏁 60 days until America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K!

Just two more months until you're taking in the San Diego sights on the AFC courses. Half marathon runners will be making their way from Point Loma to Balboa Park for one of San Diego’s most iconic race days. The ocean views, the city energy, the finish line celebration!

5K racers will be enjoying the beautiful tree-lined streets and historic buildings of Balboa Park. Now is the time to keep training, lock in your plans, and get excited for race weekend.

Balboa Park is not only the perfect finish line for America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K, it is also a pretty great place to spend the day before the race.

If you are coming in from out of town, here are 8 fun ways to enjoy Balboa Park before AFC:

Wander the park’s gardens and plazas.
Visit the Japanese Friendship Garden and Tea Shop
Explore the Museum of Us.
Catch a show at The Old Globe.
Do a shakeout run on the park’s trails and paths.
Stroll through the Spanish Village Art Center.
Snap photos by the Botanical Building and Lily Pond area.
Go to the San Diego Zoo next door!

Make a full weekend of it, then meet us back in Balboa Park for your finish line moment.

Registration is open for the 2026 Teal Steps Walk. 💙

Join us on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Tidelands Park in Coronado for the 11th annual Teal Steps Walk, a meaningful morning of community, remembrance, and support for the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of San Diego.

The event features a scenic 2-mile walk/stroll along the bayfront, plus refreshments, entertainment, raffle fun, and more after the walk. Groups and teams are encouraged, so gather your friends, family, and coworkers and walk together for a cause that matters.

Every step and every registration helps support the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of San Diego and its work to fund ovarian cancer research, education, and community support. Registration fees go up on June 1, so register soon to lock in the lowest price of the year.
