TLDR: Don't Like This Post until AFTER you've read it.

First, a quick thanks to all the regulars who came out for our shows in the past, many of you since the first one at the San Jose Improv. I miss you all, and hope you are well and happy.

OK, a quick poll of sorts.

Since Covid, and the loss of our wonderful regular venue, I've not been motivated to do regular local Pecha Kucha shows. I do get the occasional "when's the next one?" questions from folks and I wonder if people are finally over their fear of indoor entertainment.

So here's the deal.

Don't hit like on this post unless you think you would go to a show if we held one in the near future. If you think you might, with all the standard availability caveats, please hit like. Don't say yes if you are still uncomfortable being around people, I'm not trying to guilt anyone into this.

Thanks!

So, what post-pandemic criteria would you suggest before you would attend or participate in a Pecha Kucha Night?

I'm personally thinking I want my audience to be able to feel comfortable unmasked and the venue at 100%, so for the Bay Area I'd be thinking at least 80% fully vaccinated.

Your thoughts?

Unfortunately, due to scheduling changes at San Jose's ICA, we're cancelling the September show.

Actually, this is kinda cool, because it opens up a new opportunity we thought might have to wait until later in the fall! So keep watching! Sorry to tease, but we have a few loose ends to clean up before we can announce the new show. But I can tell you that it's unlike anything we've done before!

OK, here's the 2nd big announcement. We told you earlier we were returning to the ICA for a show (see July 6th note below), but that's not the only thing happening as we head into Fall this year.

On Thursday, September 21st, at 7pm, we'll be putting on a show at the San Jose Museum of Art! This is one of our favorite and longer-standing partnerships so I'm really looking forward to it. We'll likely be supporting a new exhibit (actual theme not yet announced) so we'll be working with presenters already involved with the museum and theme. Mark your calendars to hold that date!

Oh yeah, we're working up one more surprise. It's a little early to announce but I'm super excited about the potential here. And yes, we'll be looking for a few volunteers for that one (finally!) Likely in the October/November time frame. I'm tempted to give a few clues but you're all too smart and you'd likely get it right away, so mum's the word.

OK, here's the first of two announcements: There will be a San Jose Pecha Kucha on Friday, August 25th at the Institute of Contemporary Art (SJICA).

Theme and presenters are being set now, unfortunately it will be by invitation so we're not looking for volunteers. This will be the second time we've been at the ICA.The first, back in July of 2012 was fairly memorable, featuring presenters like now Mayor Sam Liccardo, Content Magazine's Daniel Garcia, and Adam Mayberry of the Mayberry Workshop.

We're expecting another top-notch set of presenters, so mark your calendar now!

We've been very quiet latey.
But there's a really big announcement in the near future.

Something we've done before, and yet something I've never done before.

Keep tuned in!
