🎶🌏 John Calloway returns to the Gardens with one of his most personal projects yet. The Afro-Filipino Jazz Project gathers Afro Filipinx, African American and Filipino American musicians to explore jazz, African American roots and traditional and folkloric Filipino music. This special project features an ensemble of stunning Bay Area talent.

Join us for an afternoon celebrating the musical connections between these communities.

🐾✨ Still feeling the power of the Black Panther from Yerba Buena Movie Night. Everyone came ready with their movie snacks and outfits. KaiKai Bee Michaels dazzled as Storm and Black Panther, while our young artists got creative with superhero-inspired coloring. Big shoutout to KALW DJ Marcus for setting the mood and much love to everyone who joined us for a night of movie magic in the Gardens.

🎵🔥 Three powerful voices take the YBG Festival stage for San Francisco Indigenous Peoples Day:

💫 Jeremy Dutcher shares music that is unapologetically playful, steeped in Wolastoqey language, cultural preservation and the urgency of modern-day resistance.
✊🏽 The Neighborhood Kids bring high-energy hip-hop and punk influences with lyrics rooted in identity, social justice and the power of the people.
🌿 Diné and Tsétsêhéstâhese musician, scholar and community organizer Lyla June shares a multi-genre presentation style engaging audiences toward personal, collective and ecological healing.

👞🎵 Throwback to La Mezcla at YBG ChoreoFest Day 2, performing a vibrant conversation between tap and music. Jessie Square came alive with the sound of their footwork, each tap echoing through the space like another instrument in the band.

🍿Movie magic in SF. Last Saturday was perfect summer weather for watching “Black Panther” under the stars. Folks came ready with their picnics, blankets and popcorn to enjoy the superhero adventure under beautiful skies. Shoutout to KALW DJ Marcus Rosario, drag performer KaiKai Bee Michaels and all the movie-lovers for coming out to this special screening.

🎹👑 Latin soul royalty is in the house. A pioneer of Latin soul and boogaloo, Joe Bataan returns this season for another unforgettable afternoon at YBG Festival. He is joined by Oakland trio MeloDious, stars on the rise with an inventive mix of gospel, jazz, R&B and soul. Plus, KALW DJ Marcus kicks off the afternoon with a set starting at 1pm.

🎷✨ Celebrating 100 years of John Coltrane. Saxophonist and vocalist Richard Howell honors Coltrane’s legacy with an acoustic quartet, bringing his own soulful, spiritually grounded approach to a century of influence.

💃🏽🌧️ Rain or shine, salseras y salseros are gonna dance. A little drizzle wasn’t stopping this crowd. Los Calderones kept the rhythms coming and the dance floor moving as we closed out our final Salsa Night of the season. Just in time before the rain came in.

🎶 Arrive early. Music starts at 6:30pm with KALW DJ Eryka, followed by drag performances by KaiKai Bee Michaels. Plus, fun activities for the whole family!
🧺 Picnics encouraged. Grab food and drinks at the Metreon,Yerba Buena Lane, nearby eateries like Joyride Pizza and more. Popcorn available onsite by donation.
🌙 Layers and blankets encouraged for the evening. Limited chairs will be available for seniors and those who need them.
🧑‍🧒‍🧒 “Black Panther” is rated PG 13.
💵 Bring cash to tip the drag artist.
🚇 Getting here is easy. Powell BART and Muni are nearby. Closest garage: 5th & Mission.
