Heise Metal Sculpture is nearly “back in the saddle.” Our new studio, the “Cooper Studio,” is located at 674 Moscow Road, Stowe, Vermont. Missing from this photo is a cold PBR in my hand (as well as my shirt—not a good thing at my age), the absence of which I’m clearly not thrilled about given that it was 86F. It shan’t happen again…

15 sculptures uncovered at Melting Point Studios, after hibernating for nearly 5 years. Very bad photos attached (the sculptures are in need of a coat of linseed oil). If you are in the vicinity of 1340 Bryant Street in San Francisco, feel free to message, email me at [email protected], or text/call me at (415) 516-3264. I’ll be here until late Sunday…

About to board a flight from Burlington to San Francisco. Time to clear out my long-worn path of debris at Melting Point Studios at 1340 Bryant Street. Bittersweet, but long overdue. I believe there are about 15-20 sculptures there, but I have no clue whatsoever what they might be. I’ll post pictures tomorrow. I’ll be around until Sunday, so let me know if you might be interested in the last of the San Francisco-era pieces…

Despite current events that challenge one's faith in humanity, there is this--a sculpture made in 1978 by my uncle Bill Heise for my grandparents' 40th anniversary, which was stolen from my Vermont shop last October, has miraculously reappeared! Many thanks to the nearly 4000 folks who viewed the original post about the theft, to those that shared it and got word out, which likely prompted the thieves to come to their senses. Also, my most heartfelt kudos to the fine folks at The HiVE and Red Hen Bakery who discovered that the sculpture had been returned. To the thieves, thanks for taking a few years off my life, you (insert rampant onslaught of expletives here), but perhaps there is hope for you yet...

Yes. The Heise Metal Sculpture "sabbatical" begins in earnest on February 1 (as in, I'll be out of the country for a while). Several of these sculptures have been placed in galleries (as noted), the others, well, if you see something you like, there's no better time than the present!

Amidst the chaos of closing down my Vermont studio, someone made off with the priceless and irreplaceable sculpture below, made by my uncle, Bill Heise, for my grandparents' 40th wedding anniversary in 1978 (this is inscribed on the back of the sculpture). If anyone happens to stumble across this piece, please contact me at [email protected], or (415) 516-3264. And to whomever took it, do the right thing and bring it back--I'll give you one chance, no questions asked. Otherwise, I fear for the karmic retribution you'll have to endure. Seriously.

As of October 1, 2016, I will be taking an indefinite "sabbatical" from metal sculpture. I've proudly carried the proverbial "torch" for my dearly departed uncle, Bill Heise (who started Heise Metal Sculpture in 1966), but it's time to set that torch down for a bit--it will never be extinguished, but will burn more quietly while I focus on some other interests. In due time, I shall ignite it once again! So, if you've been considering adding a Heise Metal Sculpture piece to your home, there is no better time than now! These photos represent my San Francisco inventory (my Vermont inventory was posted earlier). Feel free to contact me at [email protected] for more information. All reasonable offers considered!
