This year, we are so proud to be celebrating the 10th Baltic Christmas Fair in San Francisco. The fair was first held in 2014, and has been held every year since except for 2020. This year, stop by the welcome desk to find a special commemorative ornament to celebrate this milestone. The ornament was designed by Sylvia Vientulis of Monkeyprint (https://www.monkeyprint.com), who has participated in the fair every year since 2015. Look for her sophisticated ceramics, prints, and other gift items tomorrow at the fair!

Meet our vendors! Nerija of Studio Buena Vista writes of the symbols and ideas that inspire her hand built ceramics, "Rūta (ruta graveolens L.) is a national plant of Lithuania. Its symbology is rich and varied but it is mostly associated with women and their usage of the plant in healing (including birth control), magic (another method to protect yourself from evil:) and religious ceremonies."

"According to Veronika Povilionienė, one of Lithuania’s most famous folk singers, rue’s traditional significance - love and eroticism is echoed in hundreds of folksongs."

“Lithuanians did not use the actual word ‘love’ in their songs. They used to cover this feeling with symbols such as rue.
