San Francisco Torch Relay for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals
Hello,
We are the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland Medical Social Workers and Spiritual Care Team. As some of you may know UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland was initially The Baby Hospital, which was founded by a nurse, Bertha Wright and a social worker, Mabel W**d along with a few other women. With time The Baby Hospital became Children's Hospital Oakland and now has evolved into UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. During this long journey social workers have been at the heart of the hospital supporting patients, family and staff.
Our goal as medical social workers and spiritual care providers is to provide support, resources and be the bridge between patients, families and the medical staff. We are raising money to be able to continue to provide our services and concrete resources/support to our families in need. We do this by assisting with transportation (i.e. gas cards, Uber rides, train rides), food (i.e. meal cards, groceries, snack bags), lodging (i.e. hotel rooms, Family House), bills (i.e. rent, water bill, PG&E etc) and more.
Please join us in fundraising for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to make a difference for sick children and their families in our community. There is no donation too small or too large. We greatly appreciate all of the support you can provide to our hospital and our community!
