¡Afro-Peruvian Fest 2024 fue un éxito gracias a ustedes!
Queremos agradecer a todo el equipo del Community Music Center por su apoyo y hacernos sentir como en casa, a Zellerbach Family Foundation y Constellations Network que con su apoyo hicieron posible esta edición del festival, a nuestros colaboradores que realizaron un gran trabajo en la producción del festival, a cada uno de los artistas que participaron y ofrecieron performances maravillosos, a las personas que nos hicieron llegar sus generosas donaciones, y a todos los que asistieron y llenaron el Concert Hall. Hemos recibido comentarios muy alentadores y estamos felices por esta bonita experiencia. Seguiremos trabajando para mostrar la cultura afroperuana en el area de la bahía de San Francisco.

Afro-Peruvian Fest 2024 was a success thanks to you all!
We want to thank: the entire team at Community Music Center for their support and making us feel at home, the Zellerbach Family Foundation and Constellations Network whose support made this edition of the festival possible, our collaborators who did a great job in the production of the festival, each of the artists who participated and offered wonderful performances, the people who sent us their generous donations, and everyone who attended and filled the Concert Hall. We have received very encouraging comments and we are happy for this beautiful experience. We will continue working to show Afro-Peruvian culture in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Este sábado disfrutaremos de los vibrantes ritmos de la música afroperuana con el concierto de Warango.

Warango es una agrupación de música afroperuana basado en Oakland, California. Su propuesta se fundamenta en el encuentro de las raíces afroperuanas con armonías y melodías de la música clásica y el jazz. Estos dos mundos conviven en los sonidos de Warango creando una propuesta musical única.

Nos vemos el sábado en el Community Music Center en San Francisco de 3:30-6:30pm. Afro-Peruvian Fest es un evento gratuito. ¡Pasa la voz!

This Saturday we will enjoy the vibrant rhythms of Afro-Peruvian music with Warango’s concert.

Warango is an Afro-Peruvian music group based in Oakland, California. This proposal is a meeting of Afro-Peruvian roots with harmonies and melodies from classical music and jazz. These two worlds coexist in the sounds of Warango, creating a unique musical proposal.

See you on Saturday at Community Music Center in San Francisco from 3:30-6:30pm. Afro-Peruvian Fest is a free event. Spread the word!

This Saturday at Afro-Peruvian Fest at 3:30pm we will offer a free Cajon Workshop!

The Cajon is a symbol of identity and cultural pride for Peruvians. We can appreciate the versatility of the Cajon which has allowed it to successfully enter world music. This instrument is an example of the creativity and resilience of people of African descent in Peru.

We will provide Cajons for the first 10 participants in the Cajon workshop. You are also welcome to bring your own.

See you on Saturday at Community Music Center in San Francisco. Afro-Peruvian Fest is a free event. Spread the word!

Este sábado a las 3:30pm en Afro-Peruvian Fest ofreceremos un Taller de Cajon gratuito.

El Cajón es un símbolo de identidad y orgullo cultural para los peruanos. Podemos apreciar la versatilidad del Cajón que le ha permitido introducirse con éxito en la música mundial. Este instrumento es una muestra de la creatividad y la resiliencia de los afrodescendientes en el Perú.

Para el Taller de Cajón proporcionaremos cajones para los 10 primeros asistentes. Si deseas puedes traer tu propio instrumento.
