Freedom is moving through the city again.

On Saturday, June 20th, the SF Citywide Juneteenth Parade + Celebration returns to Market Street for a powerful day honoring culture, legacy, resilience, and community.

From the parade route to Embarcadero Plaza, this year’s experience will bring together live performances, family activations, watch parties, community leaders, cultural organizations, local businesses, and residents from across the Bay Area under one movement:

“Freedom Then. Freedom Now.”

This is more than an event.
It’s a visible reminder that history, culture, and community still deserve space in the heart of the city.

Tank said, “Our violence is not the threat… our love is.”

And maybe that’s because when Black America fully aligns emotionally, economically, strategically, and culturally… history shifts.

That’s the part people underestimate.

Juneteenth is more than remembrance.
It’s a mirror.

Because while we rightfully acknowledge what was stolen, delayed, suppressed, and extracted from Black America, we also have to confront another truth:

Many of us now have freedoms our ancestors prayed for…
but still think in survival mode.

We have access to information, business formation, media platforms, land ownership, investing, education, travel, networking, technology, and global reach in ways previous generations could not imagine.

Yet too often:
we lack strategy,
collective ex*****on,
discipline,
economic coordination,
long-term planning,
and infrastructure ownership.

That conversation matters too.

Not to shame us.
To awaken us.

Because freedom without structure can still leave people mentally trapped.

And influence without ownership will always enrich someone else first.

Black America has already proven it can build culture powerful enough to shape the entire world.

The next phase is building systems:
ownership,
institutions,
land,
media,
distribution,
technology,
economics,
and legacy infrastructure that cannot be easily extracted, erased, or redirected.

That’s why Juneteenth still matters.

Not just because of where we’ve been…
but because of what we still have the power to become.

San Francisco will have multiple Juneteenth events—but there is only ONE parade that moves through the heart of the city and brings everyone together.

Join us Saturday, June 20 at 11AM for the San Francisco Juneteenth Parade & Celebration.

We start at Market & 2nd Street and move through downtown to the waterfront, closing out at Embarcadero Plaza near the Ferry Building.

Live performers. Street energy. Community leaders. A full Kids Zone powered by Target. Citywide support including the Golden State Warriors.

This is not just another event on the calendar.
