From brother duets to raging fiddle tunes, Hard Drive brings a sense of deep intuition and silliness to the world that encompasses old-time, country, and bluegrass. The Bluegrass Situation describes the band as "a delightful subversion of our expectations of what traditional bluegrass is supposed to be." Hard Drive serves up a "high-octane bluegrass-old-time style, delivered with deep intuitive insight, manic exploratory zeal and seriously powerhouse instrumental (and vocal) chops but also, importantly, with an abundant and overwhelming sense of fun" -Folk Radio UK

Tatiana Hargreaves - fiddle
Aaron Tacke - banjo
Sonya Badigian - guitar
Nokosee Fields - bass

From the Mediterranean to San Diego... one conversation.

πŸ“ Verbatim Books | Monday, June 15 | Doors 6:15 PM

What does displacement look like across oceans, across borders, across a decade of change? Join us for a cross-border conversation on immigration, survival, and the human stories behind the headlines. Together we'll examine the stakes behind immigration policy, the structure and limits of asylum systems, and the ethical challenges of documenting trauma and survival.

Jeanne Carstensen - award-winning journalist, author of A Greek Tragedy, which reconstructs a deadly 2015 shipwreck off the coast of Lesvos

Kate Morrissey - immigration reporter & Daylight San Diego co-founder, covering asylum and migration at the U.S.–Mexico border

Moderated by Marco Werman - host of The World & journalist-in-residence at UC San Diego

Bringing together global reporting and local expertise, this panel connects the realities of the refugee crisis abroad with the lived experiences of migration in our own backyard.

Two reporters. Two crises. One urgent conversation about how migration is reported, governed, and lived.
