Next up: Bosforo. And yes, you already sold this one out. 👀
On September 24th, we’re welcoming Chef and Owner Chef Seckin Sage and Sous Chef Ibrahim Ozdemir of Bosforo to The Blank Table.
Since opening on Adams Avenue last year, Bosforo has brought something entirely its own to San Diego: a modern interpretation of Turkish cuisine and Meyhane culture, built around shared plates, gathering, and the flavors and traditions of Turkey.
For Seckin, Bosforo is the culmination of a journey that started in Çukurova, Turkey, took him through kitchens from Michelin-guided restaurants to neighborhood pizza shops, and eventually brought him back to San Diego, where he first launched Pizza Bosforo before opening the restaurant he had dreamed about for years.
Alongside him is Ibrahim, whose hospitality career began at just nine years old and has taken him from Diyarbakir and Istanbul to the Fairmont Grand Del Mar and, eventually, Bosforo. Together, Seckin and Ibrahim developed a menu inspired in part by recipes passed down from their mothers, bringing Turkish heritage into conversation with contemporary culinary technique.
We couldn’t be more excited to hand them The Blank Table for one night.
September 24 is officially SOLD OUT. To everyone who snagged a seat: you’re in for a good one. See you at the table.
