APHC is excited to announce Dr. Angela Hofmann as our speaker for the veterinarian workshop. She truly embodies our theme of resilience as she is a mother of four and is a graduate from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine as of 2015
Dr. Hofmann went to college at The University of Kansas and received a B.A. in English and a B.S. in journalism. After moving to San Diego she worked at the Beach and Bay Press for a little bit, but after having her first child, working in a traditional setting wasn’t an option. She found an outlet as the Communications Director at a local rescue group which led to a new role in one of the county shelters as an adoption counselor, eventually leading to a job offer at a veterinary hospital.
She loved that job so much that she pursued a certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician. “ Several years later, I got divorced and needed to level up in my job and income, which led me to vet school with the goal of being a practice owner someday. Last year, I achieved that dream”.
Dr. Hoffman’s next goal is to grow and leverage this practice so she can purchase 2-3 more practices in the next 5 years. She is passionate about providing a positive workplace, as well as a living wage and even an equity stake in hospitals for technicians and managers, not just veterinarians!
