Jessica Beth Garcia Memorial Fund Non-profit scholarship fund founded to help support the post-secondary educational goals of San Benito High School Track athletes.

The Jessica Beth Garcia Memorial Fund was founded by family and friends in honor of the late, Jessica Beth Garcia. Jessica Beth was a track star at San Benito High School (San Benito, TX). Specializing in long distance, she competed in the 800 meter, mile run, and cross country. She won several awards throughout her high school career, and also competed at the state track meet. Her talent in track

was so tremendous she received a full track scholarship to UTPA (Edinburg, TX) where she was a member of the 1995 UTPA Cross Country Sun Belt Conference Championship Team. Much to our dismay, Jessica’s life was tragically cut short on January 6, 2009 at the tender young age of 33. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Jessica know what a difference she made in every person’s life just by being her wonderful self. She was a selfless soul that believed there was good in everyone, and it is her brilliant spirit we aim to mimic with the creation of the Jessica Beth Memorial Fund; to contribute to those student athletes with a similar spirit as hers. The Bumblebee 33: 5k Fun Run & Walk is the primary fundraiser for the Jessica Beth Garcia Memorial Scholarship, and helps us provide support to senior track athletes from San Benito High School as they look forward to completing their post-secondary education.
