Tomorrow let’s gather for Soul Samba Saturday, a dance celebration of rhythm, culture, and joyful movement. From 11:30 AM–12:45 PM, Rebekah will walk us through the vibrant world of Brazilian dance, not just as technique, but as a living tradition we get to experience together.
Rebekah began sharing her passion for Afro-Brazilian dance in 2000. Since then, she has taught throughout Texas and outside the US to students of all ages and levels. She also organized and co-hosted workshops that brought guest teachers in a variety of Brazilian and African Diaspora dance styles to the Austin-area community. She has trained in Brazil and the US with such instructors as Rosangela Silvestre, Ana Laidley, Nildinha Fonseca, Janete Silva, and Agatha Oliveira, among many others. Her dance background also includes studies in Afro‐Cuban and West African dance styles, Afrobeats, salsa, house dance, ballet, jazz and capoeira.
