It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and fellow Crocketteer, Joel Carlos Sosa. Joel left us way too soon but as his wife, Antonia, expressed beautifully, Joel “was too pure hearted to have to stay on this earth and he was rewarded with eternal bliss.”
Joel was not just a member of our group—he was family. As an original member of the Travis 250 (no. 28), he embodied the spirit and passion that defined our group. Whether playing on our Crocketteer FC teams or standing in unwavering support of San Antonio FC or San Antonio Scorpions FC, Joel’s love for soccer was undeniable.
To his close friends, teammates and loved ones, he was affectionally called Choch. You could always find Choch cheering alongside his family and friends, at matches and watch parties, surrounded by his fellow supporters who cherished his enthusiasm and camaraderie. His presence brought life to every gathering, and his absence leaves a profound void in our hearts.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, especially his wife, Antonia, his daughter, Sonia, and his brother, Jaime—all of whom are beloved members of our Crocketteers family. The Crocketteers will forever honor his memory and the joy he brought to our community.
Attached are details for services honoring Choch this Thursday 6/12/2025 (provided by his family). We encourage all who knew him to join in celebrating his life.
Rest in peace, Choch. Your passion, your loyalty, and your friendship will never be forgotten.
