We are thrilled to welcome your student to the Johnson Orchestra for the 2026-2027 school year. Our program is built on Performance, Power, and Purpose, offering a space for students to grow musically and socially through high-level performance and community.
🎻 Our Ensembles
Placement is based on skill level determined during auditions. Results will be out soon.
Symphony Orchestra (Varsity): String and Full Orchestra; involves before and after school sectionals and All-Region Orchestra auditions.
Philharmonic (Non-Varsity): Performs in five concerts and UIL competition.
Sinfonia (Sub Non-Varsity UIL): Focuses on UIL preparation and core concerts.
Prelude Orchestra (Sub Non-Varsity B): Focuses on basic technique with fewer concerts.
🗓️ Summer Camp for all High School Students
Join us July 28 – July 31st ($50 fee for lunches) for music, team building, and a Friday pool party! All rising 9th graders are encouraged to attend.
💰 Tuition, Fees, & Supply List
Program Fees may be paid in August, after school has begun.
Orchestra Class Fee: $80 for all ensembles (covers section coaches, uniforms, t-shirts, music, and program costs).
Instrument Rental: $30 annually per instrument to cover maintenance.
Supply Checklist for Fall:
A high-quality tuner and metronome (digital apps are acceptable).

🌟 PARENT SUPPORT & THE JHSOA
Private Lessons: To support your student’s growth and success within our competitive environment, private lessons are highly recommended for all students, regardless of ensemble placement. Reach out to Mr. Parrish for a list of private tutors.
The Johnson High School Orchestra Association (JHSOA): The JHSOA is our parent-run 501(c)(3) that funds receptions, clinicians, banquets, and essential program gear. We urge at least one parent from every family to join. Your involvement makes this program powerful.
We love extra hands for concert ushers and chaperones. Please email Angie Papadatos with any questions or to sign up! [email protected]
We are planning to have an out-of-state trip for all orchestra students in the Spring of 2027. Details will be revealed this August!
