The KaraSmiles Fund is bringing back the Moebius Syndrome Awareness Fun Run and Walk on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, which also happens to be Moebius Syndrome Awareness Day 💜👟

I wasn’t sure I was going to do it this year. It’s been a hard one, and planning something like this takes a lot. But then people started coming up to me saying, “Are you having your event? I’m coming down for it.” And that gave me the clarity and motivation I needed. It reminded me that people still care, that they still want to be part of something bigger than themselves. And that maybe I’m doing something right.

This is what I love. It’s my passion. And I’m so thankful for this community — for the love, the support, and the kindness after my dad’s passing. My family truly feels it.

The location may change due to new city and police regulations, possibly out by the lake near the new pizza spot. I’ll share updates as they come.

spoke too soon—because y’all are truly amazing.

This birthday morning, I woke up to something incredible: the KaraSmiles Fund not only reached our goal of $1,500… we surpassed it with a total of $2,680 raised!

I’m blown away by the love, support, and generosity of this community—every bit of it reminds me that this cause truly matters.

Today is San Angelo Gives, and I’m just $445 away from reaching my goal!

Before the KaraSmiles Fund, I had a story but no platform. The San Angelo Area Foundation believed in me when I didn’t know how to believe in myself. They gave me that voice that was not being heard.

Since 2017 till present, I’ve watched Moebius Syndrome awareness grow across Tom Green County. And I’m just one person. One story. One voice.

The KaraSmiles Fund is about more than smiles—it’s about awareness, education, and helping others like I was helped. God has put me in a position to give back.

Tonight at midnight, it begins
San Angelo Gives is officially here, and this one means everything to me.

The Kara Smiles Fund was born from my own story — growing up with Moebius syndrome and facial paralysis and knowing what it feels like to live without a smile. At 16, I had the surgery that changed my life, and now I’ve made it my mission to help others have that same chance.

It is not just surgery but a chance to smile without pain, walk into a room confidently, and feel like the outside finally reflects the inside.

I know what it’s like not to smile. And I’ll never forget it. That’s why I’m doing this.

Your donation helps offset medical expenses for kids and adults living with facial paralysis and people who need a little extra help to reclaim something most of us take for granted.
