Throwback to 1976 💙🇬🇷❤️ 🇺🇸

Sylvia Dewey and the late John Chipian hard at work mixing dough for kourambethes ahead of the very first Salt Lake City Greek Festival. When the church ovens failed, Sylvia took matters into her own hands—bringing the dough home and baking hundreds of cookies late into the night, finishing them with a generous dusting of powdered sugar. The next day, those same cookies were proudly sold at the festival, marking the beginning of a beautiful tradition.

While much has changed over the decades—from the size of the crowds to the features of the festival—even the faces of those who help bring it to life year after year—one thing has remained constant: our deep love for sharing Greek heritage, culture, food, and community with all of Utah and beyond.

We’re honored and grateful to keep the tradition going for so long—and we can’t wait to welcome you again!
