LOVE + HATE pin set
$20 (100%) of each pin set sold will be donated to The Movement for Black Lives. We have 75 pin sets available. If we can sell them all, we can raise $1500 toward ending the war on black people.

Radio Raheem was strangled in a police chokehold in 1989’s Do The Right Thing. Realizing that their crime was witnessed by threatening onlookers, the police quickly fled.
George Floyd was casually murdered by police 31 years later. On camera. We are all witnesses. And the police weren’t afraid of anything. Why should they be? Their power is unchecked.
Defund the police.
Black lives matter.

Beer Can: 4 screens of transparent white on black. Shon Taylor’s “6-Pack” show opens this Friday, November 15, 2019 with a reception from 6-9pm. This is the last opening at the gallery... so in some sense it’s more of a closing than an opening.

Shon Taylor’s “6-Pack / Bad Light” show opens this Friday, November 15, 2019 with a reception from 6-9pm. This is the last opening at the gallery... so in some sense it’s more of a closing than an opening.
“6-Pack / Bad Light” are two bodies of experimental screen prints. One build light using layers of transparent ink, the other uses light to expose an ugly alternative.
Beer Can: 6 screens of transparent white on black. Same screen angle, varied dot size. 16x20.
We’re also blowing out all of our gear. If you always wanted a BUY ART shirt, but the $10 price tag was holding you back, we’re cutting the price down to $5.00 just for you (you cheap bastard).

This is normally the time of year when we open submissions… but we’ve got a different announcement: God Hates Robots is closing on December 1!
We’ve got three openings remaining, including a show from Evan Jed Memmot opening on October 4 plus openings on October 18 and November 15. Please come out to enjoy the remaining shows, buy some art and throw high-fives. While you’re at it, pick up some deeply discounted God Hates Robots gear to remind you of the good times once we’re gone.
God Hates Robots has always been an experiment. Our experiment promoted the concepts of producing art and supporting artists. In our 4.5 years we will have hosted 35 shows featuring work from artists whom had never shown before along with several established artists who created special work to match our constraints. Our experiment wouldn’t have worked without the trust of all of the artists who showed work and submitted for shows.
Our experiment also wouldn’t have worked without the support of everyone who came to shows and bought art. You’ve purchased 1,300+ pieces of art, craft, zines and material from the gallery, with 80% of the funds collected going directly to the artists producing the work. That’s pretty fu***ng awesome.
From our perspective, the experiment was a success! We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to have had so many folks come through our space and to have been a part of Salt Lake’s art community. Thank you very much!

Danielle Susi's "Magis Terra" show opens TONIGHT with a reception from 6-9pm!
From the artist:
What happens when the natural world begins to disappear due to climate change and natural disaster? “Magis Terra" is focused around the simulation of nature, often alongside the piece of nature itself--moss is surrounded by stitch work meant to imitate nature itself. Created with a variety of fibers, each piece in “Magis Terra” is a representation of a landscape or piece of the natural world, hoping to preserve what remains.
--
Danielle Susi is a writer and fiber artist based in Salt Lake City. Originally from Boston, she received her Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she received the New Artists Society Fellowship. Her work has been shown at ICA Baltimore; in the Page Gallery and Sullivan Galleries in Chicago; and in Utah at Pandemonium Gallery, Bountiful Davis Art Center, Eccles Community Art Center, Finch Lane Gallery, and God Hates Robots. Her fiber work is deeply rooted in technique and repetition, with a focus on texture building.
--
"Magis Terra" shows from August 16 through September 13, 2019.
