Kingsdayslc Salt Lake City's first annual Dutch Kings Day celebration

Reflecting on such a Leuk Avond! We took lots of pictures I just don’t have access to them quite yet. I do have to share this Sint Puppet my 5 yo Daughter made. During the evening, I saw several of kids walking around with similar puppets, and it made my heart so warm and fuzzy! I know the evening wasn’t without a few hiccups, but I feel everyone left with a smile on their faces. Thank you to all that made this possible. It was team effort. Hartelijk Bedankt, and Welterusten!

Fijne Konigsdag! We may have not been able to have our Festival last Saturday, but we can still enjoy a lekker Tompouce. We still have a few available at The Old Dutch Store. Also, we have some Oranje Marsipein Koek.

Today was supposed to be our big Dutch King's Day Festival. But luckily, you can still celebrate at home. Thanks to a very Generous donation by Nothing Bundt Cakes in West Bountiful, we were able to add even more fun to our Surprise Bags. We still have a few left, so call (801)467-5052 to reserve yours today! Make sure you are wearing your ORANGE!

Today's craft is "Delft Blue" rock painting. Find a small, flat rock in your garden. Scrub it clean and let it dry. Then paint the whole thing white. Let dry for about 15-20 minutes. Then using a fine tipped brush and blue paint create your desired design. On one I did a Windmill, and on another I attempted a mandala. The choice yours! Make sure to post your work to be entered into our Raffle.

We were so busy putting together our Festival surprise BAGS, (Yes, we had to upgrade to bags because we couldn't fit all the fun in the boxes) that I didn't do our orange Fleece Craft today. 😱🙀 I think we will save that one for Saturday. For tomorrow you will need a small rock from your garden, white and blue paint, and a fine paint brush. Who has done the tulip origami? Remember to be entered into our Raffle, all you have to do is the craft and post a picture.

Wednesday's Craft: Origami Tulips! I used this video by Red Ted Art: https://youtu.be/LFHGsHdY8w4.
They were so easy and turned out really cute! I used colored cardstock, scrapbook paper and white printer paper that I colored with my Daughter's crayons. Give it a try and make sure you post your work to be entered into our RAFFLE.
For tomorrow's craft, you will need ORANGE Fleece, fabric scissors, and fabric paint.

Two other things we were planning for our Dutch Kings Day Festival was a Raffle and a Craft Area. So, each day the rest of the week we will be sharing a Dutch themed craft/activity. Here's how it will work:
The day before I will post what supplies you will need. Then at 10 am I will post what the craft is with the instructions, template or utube video. All of the activities are fairly simple and some of you will have the supplies already. Make sure you take a photo of your work and post it to our page for an entry into our RAFFLE! For tomorrow, you will need: Paper- colored if you have it, or white paper and some crayons, pencils, or markers. Scissors, and a ruler.
