IT WAS AN AMAZING 10 YEAR RUN! From 6 of us in 2016, to hundreds of friends joining us through 2025. It has been incredible to host this event year after year. The most rewarding aspect was to learn all the different reasons you all decided to take a freezing plunge into Salem pond. I want to thank all of you for being a part of it!! Unfortunately Salem City Utah - Government has required me to pull an EVENT PERMIT and obtain EVENT INSURANCE at my own expense. For this reason I am discontinuing the event for now. Out of all the hours of planning, cutting firewood, buying doughnuts, buying and grilling hot dogs, buying and preparing hot chocolate and cups, setting up a PA audio system and setting up fire pits and changing tents I have never made this about money. It has all come from the efforts of my “staff” and money out of my own pocket. So this added expense is something I’m not able to afford.
Of course you can still show up and jump in for whatever challenge or growth you’re looking for. And I hope you do!! HAPPY NEW YEAR AND MAY 2026 BE A YEAR OF SUCCESS, LOVE AND LIGHT 🩵

The polar plunge has several purposes…:

- Mindset: mentally preparing yourself to approach an uncomfortable situation

- Challenge: to be brave, to be strong, to be present in the moment

- Cryotherapy (COLD EXPOSURE): physical recovery, improved circulation, reduction of joint pain, bolstered metabolism, and more!

- Accomplishment: accomplishing something very challenging on the 1st day of the New Year (2nd day this year 🙃) to be able to look back throughout the rest of the year knowing YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS

- Fundraise: Showing support emotionally, prayerfully and monetarily to families who need each one of us to sustain them through their own life challenges

- Community: joining together with longtime friends and new ones

I’m excited to see everyone who’s planning on attending the 6th Annual Pond Town Polar Plunge! Jump with purpose!! Have a challenging goal in mind to accomplish in the new year.
We’re also “Leaping For Luke”, a 4th grader from Salem, UT who was recently diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a form of cancer. Please help out by making a generous donation of any amount and support him and his family through their challenging road ahead.
(100% of all donations go directly to Luke’s family. We have joined with the Live For Levi Foundation. Tax receipt will be available)
