GQ-Gentlemen’s Quartet did not disappoint tonight. David Shenton’s blending of old classics with new classics as well as his unique arrangements were brilliant. The musical talents of the quartet and the gorgeous voice of featured singer, Erin Shields was the cherry on top of the Golden Isles Live 84th season finale.

The Golden Isles Live concert series wraps up April 17 at Wesley Church St. Simons with GQ (Gentlemens Quartet), a modern, elegant take on some of the most famous music ever written, fusing together multiple genres in a perfect symphony of sophistication, virtuosity, and humor.

A fun day of music with Bridge and Wolak! This globe trotting duo performed a student outreach matinee and evening concert at the Ritz Theatre yesterday. They’re off to Chicago today. Michael Bridge plays the digital accordion which can duplicate all the sounds of an orchestra. Kornel Wolak is a master on the clarinet. Both play the piano as well. The Voorhees family came down from Atlanta for the show. Their young son, George is a student of the accordion and he had a private lesson with Michael Bridge. Bridge and Wolak delighted us with their multi media show and their humor. We also learned a lot about the scandals in the lives of famous composers like Bach, Chopin, Debussy and Puccini.

Golden Isles Live is excited to bring Bridge and Wolak, our fifth concert of the season to the Ritz Theatre on Friday, March 27th. We will also have over 400 students attending the matinee student outreach program.
Michael Bridge and Kornel Wolak are a globe-trotting musical duo from Canada who create life-affirming concerts full of beauty, virtuosity and humor. Bridge received his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Toronto. He performs on a digital accordion which is essentially a computer housed in a conventional accordion case. Wolak received his PhD from the Paderewski Music Academy in Poznan, Poland. He plays the clarinet. Both also play the piano. They have a fascination with fusing music genres and a passion for performance. They have logged enough miles for a trip to the moon.

An incredible evening of music showcasing the Brunswick High and Glynn Academy bands alongside Rob Verdi, sax player extraordinaire. This was our 2nd student outreach of the season.
The students and band leaders are to be commended for their excellent performance and professionalism. They were truly impressive!

Golden Isles Live is excited about showcasing our young Brunswick High and Glynn Academy band students Friday night, led by their equally talented band directors, John Birge of Brunswick High and Chris Duke of Glynn Academy. They will be accompanied by saxophone artist, Rob Verdi. Rob has worked with Disney in Los Angeles for 40 years and has toured extensively with his band. Tickets are available Isles Live.
