Going to be reveling in the soulful selections of Atlanta’s DJ Kemit this weekend.

I’ve been attending the annual House In The Park-Atlanta and the The Atlanta Weekender for about a decade now. Kemit is one of the residents and curators, alongside his own residencies like Spread Love, Kickin Up Dust, and Soul Makossa, that makes that the Southeast’s biggest and baddest house gathering and Atlanta a staple for soulful dance music. Also have fond memories of going to Saint Augustine and hearing him throw down one of his infamous 45 sets in the back of a hair salon for one of The Garage parties, which was probably one of the best underground dance music experiences in Florida at that time, back in 2014. Needless to say, he’s been a big inspiration and had a lot of influence on me.

His productions regularly feature in my sets and at Open House Conspiracy’s parties by our guests. Now we get to share the full Kemit experience with the Sunshine City for a special Motherland Music Festival and Record Store Day after dark edition of OHC.
