Boy, what a soggy couple of days! 🌧️

So, how about something to brighten things up?

Our SPPFD OPEN HOUSE is coming up Tuesday, October 6th, from 5:00–7:00 PM, and we’ve got a great evening planned for our community!

We’ll be joined by some incredible local organizations, along with plenty of activities for the whole family. Explore the fire trucks, try on firefighter gear, take on the Hose Race Challenge, check out some impressive equipment, grab something good to eat, and a whole lot more.

And the best part?

It’s a FREE family event!

Take a look at the flyer below and see everything we have planned. We can’t wait to open our doors and spend the evening with our community!

We have the power to help one another, and your community needs you. Whether you are a seasoned donor or have been looking for the right time to step up, your contribution can save a life.

Join your local Lions Club for our upcoming blood drive:

Date: Friday, September 11th

Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Location: St. Paul Park City Hall

Ready to make a difference? Call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter St. Paul Park MN, or scan the QR codes in the attached flyer image below (one code is to schedule your appointment, and the other is for RapidPass to save time on donation day)! The American Red Cross has declared only the second national blood supply crisis in its history due to critically low blood donations and a severe drop in the nation's blood supply.

Key Details of the Alert
The Shortage: Blood donations dropped to a four-year summer low, driven by seasonal travel, extreme weather, and other factors, causing the national inventory for Type O blood to fall to less than a one-day supply.

Impact on Hospitals: Because of the severe deficit, the Red Cross has had to limit distributions of Type O blood to individual hospitals, forcing some patients to wait for critical, life-saving transfusions.

The Call to Action: The organization stresses that just three more donors at each blood drive can help reverse the crisis and stabilize the nation's inventory.

How to Help
Eligible donors—especially those with Type O positive and Type O negative blood—are urgently needed to schedule an appointment.
