Hello quilting friends~ we have a busy October coming up.
Guild Meeting is Thursday, October 2nd, door open at 6:30 for you to visit with your fellow members. Meeting will start at 7:00.
~At this meeting we will be having our Elections for President, Secretary, Treasurer and Program Chair. If you are interested in any of this positions, please reach out to JoAnn.
~Barb and Marlyn will be hosting a session on how to put binding on a quilt with a sewing machine.
~Quilts of Honor, Suzy Rainer, will take donated quilts that are
72 x 90. She will also take nominations. Our November meeting will be dedicated to our Men and Women in which they will get a quilt to take home with them.
Dawn's Quilt Shop from Alexandria will be our speaker for the night showcasing a trunk show and their newest patterns. Bring your money with as they will have product for sale as well.
October 14th - Sherry Newell-Opatz will be hosting at her home a Sip Swap and Sew from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. As always it's a potluck so bring something to share (snack, dish, or dessert). Don't forget to bring something to Swap with other friends. Bring along some handwork to do while you sit and visit. Look for sign up at the Guild meeting.
Sherry will also have a sign up sheet for the Sleep in your own bed Quilt Retreat being held at the Riverside Inn in Cold Spring. Date is January 23rd - 25th. Friday it will start at 5:00 pm. 1st 20 people signed up will get to go! Look for the sign up sheet at the Guild meeting.
October 17th and 18th, Barb Rosene will be hosting a Machine Embroidery Retreat at First United Methodist Church on Pinecone Road. This is open to anyone who has an Embroidery Machine and has a project you want to work on and have social time with others. Look for more details at the Guild meeting.
October 20th is the next Monday's Magnificent Makers sewing day from 1:00 to 8:00 with a potluck supper at 5-5:30 at the First United Methodist Church on Pinecone Road. Bring your own sewing machine and have a day of fun sewing projects with a bunch of great ladies. If you are interested in how to sew bindings on quilts, they will be there to help you learn.
Note: Julie and Barb from Service projects can always use batting, batting scraps, Minky for backing on quilts, kid friendly cotton fabrics and cotton fabrics for men quilts.
