Updates from the HBNHC. Progress continues on the main rink floor and refrigeration room. The On-Ice Official's room is also taking shape!

8 Week update from the HBNHC. The warm floor for the main rink is complete! Work on the insulation of the header trench and floor is ongoing. The ice resurfacer room and runway have been put back together. New fluid coolers were lifted to the rooftop by crane which compliment the new refrigeration equipment being installed in our mechanical room! The critical mechanical and infrastructure work will support sustainability of the Herb for future generations of skaters!

Six week update from the HBNHC. Complete removal of the subfloor from both main rink and practice rink. Concrete has been poured to update rink sizes on both fields of play.

Supply and return transmission lines have been installed.

It has been a busy four weeks at the HBNHC as we began the construction project. Existing dasherboards and glass were removed by our internal Facilities Department. Huge shoutout to that department for all of their support during that process.

Over the past three weeks the project has seen lighting replacements on both the main and practice rink and removal of the arena floors and old piping.

The ice resurfacer room and refrigeration room have been completely demoed to allow for removal of the old components and prepare for the installation of the new system.

The Herb Brooks National Hockey Center is undergoing construction to replace our refrigeration system. We will be closed to the public until the Fall of 2026. We will post updates about bookings and our reopening timeline here as the project progresses.

Looking for an exciting opportunity to become a full-time ice technician? We are looking for a motivated professional to join our full-time operations team! This position will be responsible for overseeing the facility, including two ice surfaces and a variety of off-ice spaces. The individual is a vital, front-facing position for our local youth hockey associations and the game day experiences for three NCAA programs. 6 months of direct operational experience with ice resurfacer equipment and practical application of ice maintenance techniques are required.
