"Seasonal Lights" from WT Productions enters its final three performances at GreenMan Theatre this weekend

A patron from the first weekend commented, "We like how the stories / acting / writing have matured over the years. This year I feel each one was a little dark, but that's what we liked about them. Each skit seemed to have an outsider character and that is how life is. In the end, Christmas is about opening up to new people and ideas--to do a little soul searching."

WT Productions continues their Seasonal tradition with this seventh production of six all-original short plays that look at Christmas and the winter holiday season from a variety of perspectives. These offbeat and quirky plays offer a fresh take at "the most wonderful time of the year."

"Seasonal Lights" is written, produced, and directed by Debbi Dennison & Carl Zeitler. The show features a cast of Debbi Dennison, Danny Glenn, Kim Green, Tony Lage, Debbie Roberts, Kate Roberts, Laura Strojny, Julane Sullivan, Bruce Worthel, Carl Zeitler, and Troy & Roy as themselves.

WT Productions turns on the "Seasonal Lights" at GreenMan Theatre one week from tonight.

"Seasonal Lights" by Debbi Dennison & Carl Zeitler is a new collection of six short plays that takes Christmas and the winter holidays and looks at them from different perspectives. Each play tells a different story and elements of the first five plays come together in the finale in the traditional Seasonal style. "Seasonal Lights" blends light comedy, dark comedy, and drama to put a unique spin on this traditional time of year.

The cast features Debbi Dennison, Danny Glenn, Kim Green, Tony Lage, Debbie Roberts, Kate Roberts, Laura Strojny, Julane Sullivan, Bruce Worthel, Carl Zeitler, and Troy & Roy as themselves.

"Seasonal Lights" represents the first production in WT Productions' second volume of Seasonal shows and seventh overall. The first volume of six shows all dealt with some aspect of a Christmas present. The first production was "Seasonal Ties" in 2017, followed by "Seasonal Bows," "Seasonal Wraps," "Seasonal Tags," "Seasonal Bags," and "Seasonal Gifts." All of those productions were written, produced, and directed by Dennison and Zeitler, who are the co-founders of WT Productions.

"I am so proud of what we've accomplished with these shows. From day one, we have set out to show that the holidays can stir up a wide range of emotions and experiences. We still stand by that mission to present all sides...the good, the bad, and the quirky," Dennison said.

"Seasonal Lights" is a fundraiser for GreenMan Theatre Troupe. The production runs during the weekends of December 6-8 & 13-15. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. GreenMan Theatre Troupe is located at First United Methodist Church of Elmhurst at 232 S. York in Elmhurst. Free parking is available.

"Working specifically with WT Productions is exciting because their Seasonal plays are a known property to audiences. We are able to bring our excellence in front of house and tech, with use of the space and they are able to bring the high quality production and the audience. Last call at STC Theater for "Now and Then" by Sean Grennan on Sunday April 30 at 4 PM.

One night in 1981, just as Jamie is closing the bar where he works, a desperate last-minute customer offers him and his girlfriend Abby two thousand dollars to sit and have a drink with him. Who wouldn’t take it? As the trio swaps stories and Jamie considers the decisions he faces about his musical career and his future with his girlfriend Abby. the young couple begins to realize that this older man is unusually invested in their choices… and the reason he gives them is completely unbelievable. But when a very displeased second stranger arrives, the unbelievable begins to look like it just might be true. "Now and Then" is a heartfelt romantic comedy about the costs of the choices we make, and the people who make them with us.

"Now and Then" is directed by Gail Cannata and features Tessa Dougherty, Matt Hellyer, Carolyn Larsen and Jack T. Smith.

"Murder's Day" arrives May 6.

Someone is going down for a dirt nap. Someone else is going down for the crime. Are you detective enough to solve the mystery of "Murder's Day?"

WT Productions is partnering with STC Theater and North Avenue Pub & Grill for this murder mystery dinner theater event.

Tickets have been going very quickly for this production. There are only 3 tables remaining. Ticket sales CLOSE AT THE END OF SATURDAY APRIL 29.

It would be the typical Mother's Day dinner, but this family is anything but typical. Mom has to celebrate a week early because her five offbeat children can never agree on anything. There's Neil, her favorite, who is most interested in himself, fashion, and being pampered. Anything or anyone else is a distant second. There's Jane, who goes all out to get her mother to notice and praise her. There's Mikey, who is part of the local forest preserve police but desperately wants to join the city force. There's Carrie and Terry, twins who are inseparable and have the tendency to finish each other's sentences. They believe they're identical twins even though they are not. Then Uncle Paul shows up out of the blue. He hasn't been around for decades. What does he have up his sleeve? And what's the deal with Jeremy, the maître d'? One of these characters will die, and the rest of them will be suspects.

"Murder's Day" will be a one-night only performance at North Avenue Pub & Grill in their private dining room on Saturday May 6. A social hour begins at 6 PM and the performance begins at 7 PM.

During the social hour, characters will interact with audience members. They may provide details that can be used as clues to help you determine the killer later that evening. Salad and an appetizer will be served just prior to the show beginning. There will be a meal break when the entrée will be served. Once the main course is over, the performance will resume until dessert is served. During this time, predictions of whodunnit and why will be collected. The show will conclude with the big reveal. Once over, several prizes will be awarded to those who guess correctly or come up with very creative responses.

Speaking of those prizes, several local businesses have donated some very nice items. Pinot's Palette of St. Charles donated a prize basket worth $200, including a $150 gift certificate, art supplies, and a wine opener. All Dressed Up Costumes in Batavia donated a basket of various Tastefully Simple jars of sauces, spices, and oils worth approximately $100. They also donated a bath bomb with a candle, a bottle of chocolate wine, and a mystery gift. Paula's Couture Consignment in Batavia donated a bottle of red wine with a pair of wine glasses. North Avenue Pub & Grill is donating a $50 gift card to their venue, and Dawn Block/Century 21 donated a $35 gift card to Home Depot.

"Murder's Day" is written by Debbi Dennison and Carl Zeitler. The cast features Debbi Dennison, Mackenzie Grattan, Tom Ochocinski, Stephen Pickering, Nikolai Sorokin, Julane Sullivan, and Carl Zeitler.

Patrons have three plated entrée choices: vegetarian rigatoni with vodka sauce, roasted chicken with roasted potatoes, or pan-seared salmon with roasted potatoes. All meal options include house salad, bruschetta, soft drinks, water, coffee, tea, and a slice of cheesecake. There will be a cash bar available for other beverages during the social hour and meal break.

Tickets are $61 for the vegetarian rigatoni, $69 for the roasted chicken, and $69 for the pan-seared salmon per person. Tickets include the meal items, performance, tax, gratuity, and all other fees. Part of the proceeds will go to STC Theater, a local community theater in its first year. Please help support the arts.
