Happy birthday to the town that makes everything we do possible.
461 years ago today, St. Augustine became the oldest continuously inhabited city in the country. Every brick, every corner, every story downtown carries some of that history.

We get to make new things inside all that old. That’s not lost on us. Happy founding day to the town we’re proud to be part of.

We’re in this month’s St. Augustine Social, and it means a lot to see the whole idea in print. Gary McGeddy is the sole owner of La Casa Studios and 17 King American Bistro.

Writer’s angle is one we love: Gary McGeddy calls it “The Plaza Experience.” Two neighboring downtown businesses, 17 King American Bistro and La Casa Studios, built around the same belief that downtown St. Augustine should feel just as welcoming to locals as it does to visitors. At La Casa that looks like an art gallery, a podcast studio, an event venue, and retail, all under one roof and steps from 17 King’s kitchen and live music.

Five Flagler College students take over the gallery for September’s Art Walk. Portraits, paintings of the buildings you walk past every day, quiet moments that stop you. Come stand in front of the real thing, meet the people who made it, and maybe find a piece you can’t stop thinking about.

Flagler College student artists are joining us September 4 to display AND sell their original work throughout La Casa Studios.

Come meet the artists, see what they’ve been creating, shop original pieces, and discover some of St. Augustine’s emerging creative talent before everyone else does.
