Greek Festival St. Augustine

Greek Festival St. Augustine Escape to Greece and immerse yourself in authentic Greek culture and heritage at the Annual St. Augustine Greek Festival. Opa!

On October 10 and 11, transport your senses to Greece as you taste authentic homemade foods, drinks and pastries at the Kouzina (kitchen), Psistaria (grill), Zaharoplastio (sweet shop), Kafenio (cafe) and Taverna (bar). Surround yourself with the sounds of Greek music and participate in traditional Greek folk dancing. The annual event also features craft vendors, a Greek market, bookstore and gift

shop. You can even take a guided church tour and we welcome you to join us for our Sunday morning liturgy. This is a FREE event, open to the public. Take out or eat in and enjoy the festivities... or better yet, eat in AND take out to enjoy later. Whole pans are available for pre-order and pick-up at the event. We cannot wait to celebrate our Annual Greek Festival event in October!

Thinking of heading to Greece soon? 🇬🇷 Don't get lost in translation!

While many Greeks speak excellent English, nothing opens doors (and hearts) like making an effort to speak the local language. Whether you are ordering a frappe in Athens or finding your way through the blue-domed streets of Santorini, these 8 essential words will be your best travel companions.

The image watermarked_img_942447400122833087.png shows the must-know basics:

Γεια σου (Yia Sou): Your go-to for "Hello" and "Goodbye".

Ευχαριστώ (Efharisto): A polite "Thank you" goes a long way.

Παρακαλώ (Parakalo): Use this for both "Please" and "You're welcome".

Ναι (Nai): Careful! This sounds like "No" to English speakers, but it actually means "Yes".

Όχι (Ohi): And this one means "No".

Συγγνώμη (Sygnomi): Perfect for "Excuse me" or "Sorry".

Νερό (Nero): The most important word on a hot summer day—"Water".

Καλημέρα (Kalimera): Start your day right with a cheerful "Good morning".

Save this cheat sheet for your next trip and tag a friend who needs to start practicing! ✈️☀️
