ATTENTION TRACTOR & TRUCK PULLERS
Following up on last week’s pulling post- and before the rumors somehow turn into “my cousin’s friend heard…”- here’s the situation for this year’s Franklin County Field Days pulls.

Because the fair took a year off, we are no longer in alignment with this year’s regular truck and tractor pulling circuit schedule.

So this year, we’re teaming up with the New York Tractor Pullers Association and the Vermont Tractor Pullers Association to put on a great pulling weekend!
-Friday, July 31st
-Saturday, August 1st

Now before everyone starts asking “ what class is pulling what day?” approximately 14 seconds after reading this post…

Because we are off circuit this year, pulls will be organized a little differently depending on:
-What sled is available
-Which class is pulling
-And what time works best throughout the weekend

Here’s the current breakdown:
New York Tractor Pullers Association will be conducting:
-Limited Pro Stock Tractor Pulls
-Super Farm Tractor Pulls
Vermont Tractor Pullers Association will be conducting:
-Antique Tractor Pulls
-Farm Division Tractor Pulls
-V8 Mini Pulls
-Truck Pulls

IMPORTANT:
If you are planning to pull in either the truck and/or tractor pulls, please understand that your class could potentially pull Friday or Saturday.

We are telling you now so everyone can:
-Plan accordingly
-Make arrangements
-And hopefully avoid the “nobody told me” comments later on

More information, finalized schedule, and class details will be released as everything get finalized. Until then… keep wrenching on it and telling everyone it’s “almost ready.”

Also, at this time questions about classes and schedules will probably not be answered in the comments because this social media girly does not have the answers (neither does anyone else) and is simple trying her best 🫶

Here comes the blue collar convoy…

You know how this goes…
One person says, “I might hook the tractor this year”
…and next thing you know there is:
-14 missed calls
-a group chat named something aggressive
-and three grown men (or women, because girls to it best) standing around a tractor saying “it’s basically stock”

Well congratulations… your moment has arrived!

Tractor pulls are happening at Franklin County Field Days!
Location: Hubbard Ln. Swanton, VT 05488

Time to:
-Call your cousin
-“Tune it” (hit it with a wrench and hope)
-Line ‘em up with your buddies
-and immediately regret telling everyone you’re gonna win

Because we already know exactly what’s coming:
-“I was just warming it up”
-“Track was different when I went”
-“I had more in it”
-And one guy absolutely refusing to go home after losing (but no worries, there will be plenty of food and beverage options to drown your ego in)

Bring the whole crew, talk a big game, and settle it the only way Franklin County knows how…
FULL PULL OR FULL EXCUSES - no in between

ATTENTION FOOD VENDORS
Yes, we’re talking to you… the fry masters, lemonade shakers, BBQ legends and the folks who somehow make fried dough disappear faster than we can walk across the midway.

This is your friendly (but slightly aggressive) reminder that food vendor spots at the 2026 Franklin County Field Days are filling up faster than a plate of poutine at lunchtime. If you’ve been “meaning to sign up,” consider this your sign from the fair gods.

Don’t be the one watching from the sidelines wishing you secured your spot while everyone else is out there making crowds (and cash) happy!

Get your application in before it’s too late. We would hate to see a perfectly good fryer sit at home all weekend when it could be working at the Franklin County Field Days!

Tag your favorite food vendors that need a little nudge.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE TOP

Our chairman is a tough guy to get in front of a camera these days; busy “making liquid gold” he told me. But we managed to get a few words out of him… and by “a few words” we mean pure, unfiltered excitement for this years upcoming fair!

If this is the energy coming from the top.. just imagine what we’ve got planned for the rest of you!

Now we need to know…
What are YOU most excited for this year?

Drop it in the comments:
-Demolition Derby
-Tractor Pulls
-Truck Pulls
-Midway Rides
-Lawnmower Races
-Cow Drag Racing
-Something completely unhinged we haven’t thought of yet?

We’re taking notes… (no promises, but we are writing things down aggressively).

Let’s hear it!

Something BIG (and slightly unhinged) is coming to this years Franklin County Field Days.

We’ve partnered with Dreamland Amusement to bring a thrilling show that will have you stopping mid-fried dough bite like “wait …are they actually doing that??”

We’re talking:
-People doing things that definitely require more bravery than we have
-Heights that feel unnecessary
-And just enough chaos to make your stomach drop while you’re safely on the ground holding a lemonade

Best part? It’s happening multiple times throughout the weekend, so if you miss it once, you’ll have several chances to question your life choices and watch anyway.

Perfect for:
-Thrill seekers
-People who love a good “NOPE” moment
-And anyone who wants to stand there like “yeah I could never”

Show times coming soon. Mentally prepare now.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FROM FRANKLIN COUNTY FIELD DAYS

After months of planning, meetings, and at least one heated debate over funnel cake flavors… we’re excited to officially announce our brand new main event for 2026: COW POWERED DRAG RACING

That’s right. Move over tractors… step aside demolition derby… this year, we’re strapping in some of Franklin County’s fastest dairy cows and sending them down the track in head-to-head drag races.

Classes will include:
-Stock Holsteins
-Modified Jerseys (extra oats allowed)
-Open Class (yes, your cousin’s “really athletic” beef cow counts)

Winner takes home:
-A year’s supply of bragging rights
-A custom gold-plated cowbell
-And a suspiciously large pile of hay

We’re currently accepting registrations — cows must be able to run in a straight-ish line and have a competitive attitude.
Spectators, don’t worry… grandstand seating will be reinforced (probably).

More details coming soon… or until the cows unionize.

Our annual Franklin County Field Days meeting will take place tonight, November 19th, at 7 PM at the Sheldon Fire Department (467 Mill St., Sheldon). All are welcome to attend!
