Organized by volunteers, we raise funds for local food charities & provide free family and cultural entertainment in downtown St. Albans Festival of Trees is a week long family event with activities, music, movies at the Welden, story hour at the library, and fabulous performances at City hall and more, all in downtown St. The concept of the festival is simple: create a Christmas tree and donate i
t. Any one or any group can create a tree, in their own style, which is auctioned at the popular and highly attended Friday night gala. No tree is turned away. Each year, proceeds go to various nonprofit groups in Franklin County. Recipients have included Franklin-Grand Isle United Way/Martha's Kitchen and the St. Albans Historical Museum. The theme for the Fourth Annual Festival of Trees was “Winter Wonderland.” The kick-off to the week is always the first Saturday before the first week in December with a Tree Lighting and Caroling in Taylor Park. The Fifth Annual Festival of Trees gala was at St. Albans City Hall, Main Street and the theme was 'Northern Lights". 2013
The Sixth Annual FOT event was themed "Art Deco". 2014
And 2015's theme is "It's All About the Lake" with the primary beneficiary of this year's week of charitable fun is the non-profit Friends of Northern lake Champlain!
