Celebrating our 100th anniversary in July of 2027! Originally opened on July 28, 1927, the Temple Theatre is Saginaw’s premiere venue for the performing arts, music, dance, live events, and cinema. After being completely renovated in 2002, the 1,750-seat theatre features an intricately detailed interior that captures the essence of the original Neo-Classic design. Legendary performers, contemporary stars, and famous performing groups grace the stage of our region’s most historic theatre. Truly, “the Showplace of Northeastern Michigan.”

International Ballet Stars announces it will bring Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake to the Temple Theatre in Saginaw, Michigan for a performance on Sunday, May 16, 2027, at 2:00 PM. Presented by Global Stage Entertainment, the production is part of an 83–performance North American tour running February 12 through May 16, 2027, bringing world–class classical ballet to major performing arts venues across the United States and Canada. The tour brings together an international company of acclaimed ballet artists representing leading traditions from around the world, delivering grand-scale classical staging, elaborate costuming, and a Broadway–caliber production. Originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov and set to Tchaikovsky’s celebrated score, this full-length staging of Swan Lake unfolds over two acts, with a total run time of 2 hours and 15 minutes including a 20–minute intermission. The production is recommended for ages 3 and up, making it a fitting family event and a highlight of the 2027 season.

Synopsis – Prince Siegfried meets Odette, a princess placed under a curse by the sorcerer Rothbart that confines her to the form of a swan by day, restored to human form only at night. Moved by her beauty and sorrow, Siegfried pledges his love and vows to break the spell. At a royal ball, Rothbart tricks the prince with his daughter Odile, disguised as Odette — and Siegfried, believing her to be his true love, unknowingly betrays Odette. Realizing his error, he races back to the lakeside to seek forgiveness. Together, they confront Rothbart, and the strength of true love breaks the curse, freeing Odette and the swan maidens at last.
