Old Town Distillery by Wonder will have a box set up for donations!!!

"Boxes on Break will deliver 750 boxes of food to Saginaw students’ homes over winter break. Unfortunately for many families in the City of Saginaw, the food provided to students at school is a critically important source of food for their kids. But what happens during 16 days of Winter Break? It’s such a long time. Boxes on Break was created to be a bridge for them until they get back to school.

How it works: parents in Saginaw Public Schools will receive (or already have received) a link or QR from their school to sign up for these boxes. They fill out the information and the district then will turn that information in, and then the boxes of food will be delivered directly to the family's doorstep on December 28th and 29th.

The outpouring of support for this effort has already been incredible. We have strategic partnerships with groups like First Student and Kroger that have allowed us to increase the original amount of boxes from 500 to 750. We need volunteers to help us pack boxes, and you can find information on dates and how to sign up for that on our page.

There’s so much food insecurity in the city and we know that this is not a silver bullet. But it is something that our kids need, and need now. Beyond food, they need to know that their community cares about them, that somebody out there is thinking about them and wants to make sure they’re OK.
